Kyle Walker

Most annoying aspect of this move is that in all likelihood, if we had gone up, which we would have, barring a subjective VAR decision, he would have come to us in the Premier League this season.

Got a feeling that even if we went up this season and Burnley went down, he'd still end up at Everton or some other struggling Prem club next season.

What’s Lionel Richie got to do with Burnley? Bizarre video for a bizarre choice of club to sign for. He probably had a couple of decent seasons left in him at Championship level, but I’d like to think the ship has now sailed for him coming back to us.
You never know when Burnley go down next season (odds on they will) as they go down we go up and he jumps ship to SUFC.

Disappointed with this one, we need an RB; we have a bit of money to spend, and Walker is without a club.

Seemed the perfect time, and he goes to Burnley. If we do swap places, I would say he probably hasn't been good enough, and he won't get a chance with us next year.

Based on the last half dozen games I've seen Kyle play, I'm not sure what he's got left at the top table.

My lad went to Milan a few months ago and went to a game at the San Siro. Said Kyle was awful.

Agree

But several things probably oppose the sentiment - which I understand but reckon he’ll regret it

➡️96 England caps, prob won’t get called up playing in championship, chance in prem
➡️Supposes to be on £150k at city, will probably get least £100k Burnley, £40k tops here
➡️his lad plays for Burnley youth
➡️easy commute from home/homes

Don’t think he’ll get to 100, was shit in last game
Won’t enjoy getting tonked every week, new experience tho
Worth £27m allegedly, will regret adding another couple of mill against hearing his name chanted by the kop

Time will tell

I always believed he'd come back till I was bored one day and read an article about his infidelity-escapades.

Christ-almighty, if this rapid moron literally cannot stop impregnating a woman who objectively speaking is far less attractive than his own wife, and the mother of his legitimate children, then how can we expect him to get weepy eyed and follow his heart back to BDTBL if there is any kind of saucier offer on the table?

It makes me laugh that a lot of you are blaming Kyle for the fact he hasn't signed for us. He has made a lot of the running in public saying how much he would like to finish here, & if he isn't here it is plain that we didn't want him. A mistake in my eyes, compounded by so-called Blades acting like a jilted teenager saying he is shot. Get a grip.

I’ve said it before Walker speaks with forked tongue, it’s absolute rubbish that he wants to play for the Blades he’ll go to wherever suits Kyle Walker. Don’t hold him up as a massive Blade, I just don’t believe he is , he’s a bloke that is playing all sides to keep his options open knowing he has family in Sheffield and one day he may come back to watch us. Being associated with Sheffield United suits him and his persona but it’s all one sided. From the outside it looks like he’s had a lot of opportunities to come back, he doesn’t need the money but he’s chosen not to.
And as a lad he supported the scum (Leeds)

If I'm correct nobody gives a shit he hasn't signed for us, Indeed I am delighted as he's a washed up has been!

Not sure what Kyle is gaining from this move apart from the best pay cheque he could get. Burnley going down is nailed on and his England career is probably over.

If his dream was to finish his career at the Lane this was the perfect time (unless Selles didn't want him?)
That 'dream ' was all talk. He will be ready to come to us when he's 41 and can't run anymore

Some might say him cheating on Sheffield United with Burnley is worse than him impregnating his mistress behind his wife's back. The move to Clarets didn't bother me that much, but I felt it more than when he knocked that other bird up.

Let’s face it, he no more wanted to finish his career at Bramall Lane than Barry Bannan does, it was all said for romantic effect.

This was his last realistic opportunity to grab his ‘dream’ move, but he chose the glamour of Burnley, he has already earned more money than he could ever spend, even with two families to support.

Well as far as I’m concerned he’s shit a potful, but as always, GLTTL 🤑 💷💷

I've always said if we had stayed up V Wigan Warnock would have signed Heskey as his first signing.

Much like if we'd have gone up and Wilder had stayed he would have spent most of summer pursuing this one.

It's done now, there's a new culture at the club the view is obviously looking forward and not Bladey Blade signings.

I can understand the England reasons for staying in the Premier League, but unfortunately being at Burnley will likely end his England career anyway.
Yep.

Getting mugged off every week is hardly going to keep him in the England team I would have thought

Should we go for Connor Roberts?

Pretty harsh on him to replace him like this with a signing who'll ensure he'll barely play

I don’t buy into this “he’s made his money he should come to us” thing.

There is rarely such a thing as too much money. Extreme examples but look at Musk and Bezos. Do they think they have too much money.

Money, and the pursuit of more changes your mindset. Each and everyone of us has an amount of money we’re will forget our principles.

Kyle Walker supports us, of that I have no doubt. But money talks, this is why he has gone to Burnley.

Personally, we need to let it go. He isn’t going to play for us.

He has been a fantastic player and had a great career. He deserves to get to 100 caps. But his pace, his USP, is declining. If it wasn’t, AC Milan would have paid the fee. It’s telling that they didn’t.

Really never expected or cared if he returned to us .
Ultimately he's a lad from Sharrow who's regarded amongst his peers as one of the best English right backs ever .
He's had a fantastic career at the very top level , played almost 100 times for his country and pretty much won every honour possible at club level.

We should be proud to have been a part of that, identified his talent and gave him an opportunity .

agreed on all that TC

Italian league is a lot slower than the EPL,

If Milan don’t fancy him, interesting to see how he gets on, whether he’s actually targeted as a weak link? he’s going to be doing a lot more defensively than he’s ever done

Hope he does well, once a blade…

Apparently he's worth about £27m .. thats not much of a financial problem 🙄
Get that but it'll soon disappear 🤔
I'm actually surprised he didn't give Saudi a go for two years ( or hasn't he had offers )

Good luck Kyle. Probably not a player we really need now anyway. I hope you at least do well next season but I suspect Burnley go down regardless. The reactions from some on here? Jealousy perhaps Probably the greatest defender the club has ever produced. Has any United player got near his England caps what's Harry on these days.

Every summer for the last few years it’s been a case of “I’d love to play for the Blades again but I’m still too good for them”.

Fuck him.
To be fair to him, he always was too good to move from Man City until this year. It's just his physical ability dropped off a cliff so sharply early last season that now he's not good enough for us. As an athlete Seriki is vastly superior to Walker now, he'd be a terrible signing even at our level.
