Finally the Kop back the team properly. I have done my time on there and sang my heart out during the eighties and nineties, and some of the Noughties. To me if you buy a ticket for the Kop you have a responsibility to live up to the past noise generation. It's the whole point of going on there it's not just for the cheap ticket. And sing decent songs otherwise we would end up like these fuckwits....

Agree completely. I've been a season ticket holder on the Kop for years and will continue to add to the noise. It's really special when we bring the atmosphere.

Like many I started my supporting on the Kop and stood there for many years. Moved to John Street back in the 70s together with my mates.

Have to say that the noise from the Kop in both the Derby and Blackburn games was terrific and noticeably better than previous games. I've no doubt that it has an effect on the team and hopefully we'll keep it up.

The atmosphere at the Lane when the team is going for it has always been something special.

All you could hear was ‘tut, tut, sigh, fucks sake, tut’

Pardon me for needing a fuckin piss (family stand by the way).

No sooner have we scored, everyone is already sat back down. It’s so conditioned on there to be sedate it’s unreal. Even the steps off the concourse to the pitch have warnings on them -

No swearing
No rude gestures
No standing

Fuck off. Boring bastards. And no, I don’t sit there often. Nor will I make a habit of it (the bar staff are pathetic).

There’s also a little lad sits on there who really ought to keep his opinions to himself. “Why can’t we shoot? Lionel Messi would shoot” - that’s not Lionel Messi pal. “Why don’t you defend it better?” - I’m sure he would if he could.

I think we should have a re-think about future developments and extend the Kop before we extend the South stand. The Xmas fixtures have made me realise how important a Kop stand in full voice is to us as a fanbase and how it can benefit the team in its hour of need. In it’s current form the Kop is simply not good enough to be part of a modern football stadium It’s poor sight lines, shite concourse facilities, shallow rake have resulted in many Kop stalwarts voting with their feet and like myself sitting in Westfield/BLUT.

He said that there were plans for both but that the South Stand option was preferable because they could keep the stand open for longer while they were doing the development. A lot of the work to put another tier on the south stand can be done without closing the stand. The kop would have to be completely shut for over a year. Anyway neither plan will be actioned until we are sestablished in the PL.

If the Kop was properly built, more would stand up, and the acoustics would be much better. Part of the reason so many sit now is because when stood up, your view can be obstructed by anyone 2 inches taller in front of you, due to the stupidly shallow rake of the stand.

We've seen recently what a difference it can make when the fans on there can be arsed, but a new, optimally designed Kop could genuinely be our biggest asset. Bramall Lane would become the best proper football ground in the country.

But we'll put off rebuilding it properly for the rest of our lives and it'll be infuriating. We'll probably get a shitty bolt on bodge job in about 20 years time.

What bothered me was the tutting when I went for a piss and came back. ‘Blocking the view’ is hardly worth mentioning is it. It’s a few seconds each way. It’s not about ‘buggering off for a piss’ either is it? I mean come on, I don’t pick and choose my piss times.

As for your issue at an away game, I keep saying it - offer to change seats with the troublesome individual. He gets to stand and you get an uninterrupted view. Simple solution which keeps all parties happy. If you can’t offer that then I’d argue you’re the “wanker” as you state above.

People stand and people sit. That’s why we have the kop and family stand. Away matches there isn’t that option. But why should you get privelige over that younger fan? You’ve done it before so you know why he’s doing it. Bit unfair of you to deny him the opportunity you had.

I think you’ve answered your own question.

Because In that stand you all think you’re better than all the “foul mouthed twats” the kids won’t know that it’s part and parcel of football atmosphere. All you’re doing is creating mild mannered, lilly livered non aggressive snowflakes and turning football fucking sterile.

And if you’re going to take up one of the limited amount of tickets for away games then fucking stand and support the team. You have a job to do.

First time I'd been on there for about 4 years on Saturday, I normally sit on the Westfield Corner. The Kop has the best atmosphere, its full of passionate blades and I really enjoyed that. I hated no leg room, a 6 ft 3 bloke in front of me who I had to bob my head round constantly, a pillar blocking the touchline down the left, and the shambles that is the kiosk staff at half time, absolutely fooking useless. Other than that it was a great day out!

I always have a couple of drinks before the match, then I go for a pee just before taking my seat and then go again at half time. If I can manage that in my seventies why can't you? Unless you have a medical condition needing to go twice in the first half seems excessive.

Offering to change seats wouldn't be a problem if it weren't for the fact that just about everyone was standing. So hardly a solution is it?

As for me ' doing it before ' I stood when it was standing, but because of the reckless behaviour of a minority of fans over the years standing has supposedly been banned and seats are provided for everyone. Deciding that you are going to ignore the rules and stand anyway whatever the inconvenience to your fellow supporters is pure selfish entitlement behaviour which has become commonplace in this country over the past number of years.

I believe that safe standing areas should be provided in order to allow those who prefer to stand to do so but until then supporters need to try to understand it's not all about them and other people are being inconvenienced so that they can do what they want, despite it being against the rules.

' Job to do' you daft prat. People who consider foul mouthed aggression a necessary part of following football are pathetic. Encouraging youngsters to follow their team and passionately shout encouragement is one thing, exposing them to the raw hatred spewed out by imbeciles toward other football supporters and opposing players is simply abhorrent.

You need to get a grip pal. Do you know why sport is such a wonderful thing? Its because it's the only thing in life that means absolutely everything, and at one and the same time absolutely nothing.

Lose that and allow it to become more important than the reality of family, friends, health, and life in general then you lose the whole point of it.
