Surely we want as many good players we can hold on to committing to another crack at it

I think we just saw his commitment levels  As with all professional footballers, he has no commitment to anything other than his agent and his bank balance.
.

Quinn, Monty, Cresswell and Morgan are half our wage bill and they all need to be off it however good, bad or indifferent they are. We can't run the club like a labour government

So you'd like us to cut player positions and pay them less than the minimum wage or even make em play for their dole money, while McCabe rakes in the money and lives in a tax haven ............... ah well were half way there ;)

Everybody hates a Tory.

No, what I would like is to be able to afford to pay everyone on the payroll without making anyone jobless as per the meeting on Friday. If we managed to transfer these players contracts we would be able to move on.

Nayone know if KMac has turned up for training today - or do they have another day off?

Not being funny, but that's kind of irrelevant now. If he shows up at training it simply means that he hasn't signed anywhere yet, if he doesn't it means he's prob out talking to someone. We won't know if that someone is us or another club. The only way we're going to find out is when a club announces he's signed, be that us or somewhere else. All the rest is just waiting.

Neither was I - but him training with the rest of the lads must have some significance in the fact that if he does then he is willing to show his face and integrate with the rest of the squad. By not showing up he is suggesting that he cannot face any level of confrontation / having to fend off encouragement to stay - and is expecting to be elsewhere at the start of the season. Don't forget it's his agent that will be doing all the touting, not KMac. He wil only be needed for a medical and a short interview.

I suggest there are many ways we could find out, official and unofficial, but yes it is a waiting game and whilst that game is in progress it will be subject to speculation and rumour and counter speculation. It's a pretty important piece in the jigsaw so it is fair game for debate.

Given the circumstances I am inclined to read it one way, others may prefer a different slant. Either way it's not healthy for the pre season preparation for the team. It's kind of saying, "I'm totally looking after number one but if nothing better materialises I'm going to be back with you set of stiffs."

Don't matter how good you are, someone who is just out for number one soon loses friends and soon pisses off his workmates, don't matter what profession you are in. He might get a few more £££'s out of stalling but he will not gain any friends................ not good for team spirit and morale.

met a friend of mine, a former pro last weekend and we were talking about this.. he basically said that kmac would be mad to train with anyone without a contract because if he gets injured he is totally uninsured and his career would be on the line.. it is 'normal' for this part of the season.. apparently {shrugs}

So he trains on his own and gets injured whilst uninsured = same difference.

I guess there is a difference in that he has less of a chance of getting "tackled by a team mate" if he does a DIY job but on the downside it must be very hard to get a proper pre season in without training within a squad environment.

The other thing is he is technically unemployed - at least he will not be getting a wage from a club whilst he is out of contract - so I guess it is in his own interests to get things sorted as soon as, as well.

Still - it feels more and more remote as time drifts on that KMac will be wearing a Blades shirt this coming season.

According to Twatter KMac has been training with the lads today.
DW told Andy Giddings who told Paul Walker who used his twat account to tell the rest of us twats.

Says progress made on contract but not all there yet.

Has he signed yet and if not why not?!!

Tell him he gets his own parking space and a years worth of Peters Pies.

Grecian thats quality !! I'm sure he can negotiate either and maybe an i pad as well so he can view the new web site.
At least when he signs it will be a bit of good news . Then we can all find something else to moan about.

Eh? I've never moaned about Kevin's choice of mobile provider.

Suprisingly a new deal . It appears the issues have been resolved and agreed.

That would be a welcome snippet of news - nothing announced so far though.

..... suspect he couldn't get more elsewhere - plus the assurance of a first team starting place when his hammy is not inflamed
