Our right back situation is nothing short of appalling recruitment no matter how anyone dresses it up.

Doherty has been on a very well documented decline for a long time. Wolves fans said his legs had gone and everytime he’s featured on TV for them over the last couple of seasons he’s been running like he was towing a trailer. So it was hardly surprising that he would spend time unavailable.

The back up to the back up is then signed as an expensive defensive midfielder who had been pretty much frozen out of a side suffering double relegations for being absolutely bang average at everything. He was bang average for us the first time he was just extremely fortunate to be in a team with a few exceptional individuals who carried the team to its final position. He barely did anything other than the absolute basics and looks out of his depth at right back / right wingback currently.

Both of these signings then compound just how much of a shit show waste of money Jamie Shackleton has been.

Seriki is a high impact pace player who has had a few injuries so far in his career and we’ve failed to cover him adequately twice already this season.

I’ll be very pleasantly surprised if Ayew turns out to be anything other than a washed up old pro who struggles all season to keep up.

I totally agree but I'm not sure we have the scouting in place for that currently so it's a case of Wilder getting people in he trusts to get us through the season. Obviously, we can't carry on with this policy though. I'm hoping, probably naively, that the club are just using this season to get things in order. I'm ok with short term old players seeing us through this season if there's a genuine plan to change things behind the scenes.

This season is clearly about a) staying up and b) getting the SCR % down significantly enough come June 2027.

We barely have anyone contracted beyond next summer. If they can sell the club in the meantime I think that’s a bonus for everyone involved.

Ayew was a potent force with a decent eye for a chance in his day but the fact that we bring him in and shove him out in a game we could have and should have been striving to win and he ran empty before ten minutes just shows what personal care he has given himself. As said elsewhere, he rocked up for Ghana in the States, did 87 minutes v Panama, did an hour against England and did 71 minutes v Croatia. That is two and a half months ago. I am staggered that his match fitness has collapsed in such a short space of time and is testimony to our recruiting and physio staff not assessing him as a fully fit player before offering him a shirt.

With that in mind, Wilder was crackers sticking him on instead of Donovan. Another one of Wilder's bafflingly daft subbings that has effectively cost us points. He's got form for that.

That's not his fitness.

That's just Jordan Ayew these days.

He's actually had a full pre season I've heard, albeit in Ghana, but he's been keeping himself ticking.

If you take away the first 5-10 minutes of this appearance that's his basic level, he, very seldom, might do something like that and even more seldom. (Probably about 10 times a season at the very most, and that's playing him as often as we did which I hope for your sake you don't do) he might get a goal or an assist out of it.

You'll see far more of the Jordan Ayew in the last 20 than you did in the first 10.

Think you're right.
They've already tried to sell a piece of us back to the Prince.
But they found that "you can't kid a kidder".
I'm sure that we're for sale already , whether wholly or partially , despite the two big legal actions.
In fact, we've been almost permanently for sale since the Prince started his "let's find a fraudster" campaign.

If you were buying a footy club , would you invest in his competence ?

I thought this before window had shut. The way we was set up and the kick it forward and shit tactics and subs... as a kind of look at state of our squad please back us and bring in some players.

Didnt work and now hes seemed to have changed formation and tactics again (hopefully) in the last 2 games.

Oh yes he can, remember him in premier league fell on floor squeeling every time a united player went near him. Unfortunately he spent more time on floor on Sunday and had no pace at all.
