I remember having a negative reaction to Bamford coming in too, but he soon won me round. But at least there had been some evidence that Bamford had been a very good footballer earlier in his career.
Campbell came in with a bang, then faded

Ayew comes in…………

Its a one year deal. Shall we just give the lad a chance? You never know, he might bring a bit of physicality to our forward line and put himself about a bit.

Im not exactly bowled over with the signing either, but it looks like its a short term fix and it might work out to be a very worthwhile signing, bearing in mind who we have available to us now until January and fitness issues with some, then im willing to give the lad and the club a chance on this one and fingers crossed its a short term gamble that works out.

I can't believe Wilder is still pushing the "need experience" narrative. He talks about the likes of Burrows (24 y.o, 200+ career apps) and Cooper (26 y.o, 200+ career apps) as if they are first season pros.

We have more experience than the majority of sides in the league. What we desperately lack (and have for years) is athleticism.

I just can't get my head round how he hasn't cottoned onto that, having witnessed it first hand in our Prem seasons and against the top sides in this division.
Last season the team that played Wednesdays kids actually had an average age less than them.

Would have loved to have signed him in one of our Prem seasons. Quite possible he's past his sell-by now, but I think he's always been an underrated player actually. He's done a lot of good work in the Prem and has 100 caps for Ghana, including four at the recent World Cup.

However, regardless of how he does for us, we shouldn't be forced to panic buy free transfers after deadline day. The club is an absolute mess and it has to sort itself out before we actually head to League One.

I can't believe anyone's suggesting he's not been a good player or had a good career etc, though.

This is where we are for this season. We sold our 3 most creative players, and the board decided not to to re-invest a single penny any of it. CW was told loans and free's.
The best we can hope for is to maintain our championship status, next season will see even more upheaval.

We could have gone in for Forss or Matondo, but we’ve inexplicably gone for Ayew instead.

Feel sorry for the lad. We have down graded signing on videos from Bamfords nans bathtub to a traffic cone painted black.

Hes not going to be walking for a few days, let alone playing football!
