I’m not sure on this one.

Looks to be a decent player and £800k is nothing if the new owners even have a good championship budget for this January, but I don’t think we need a RB, especially one who’s not a premier league player.
I think a RB is the missing piece of the jigsaw. Having someone there comfortable on the ball will stop teams doubling up on others and give the rest of the team space. Much more difficult to shut us down.

Gilchrist is solid but adds little going forward. Even less than baldock when we would rotate him and bogle depending on the situation.

Baldock ventured forwards all the time. He wasn't decisive in the final third (like Bogle), but he supported our attacks.

From what I've seen of Jonjoe Kenny we'd be getting someone that's decent on the ball (crossing / passing), not likely to try and take a man on, defensively solid.

I think this is a very shrewd signing PL experience, top flight in Germany , if we go up we need a RB . Rest of this season to adapt to how we play . Could be a very good signing if it comes off .
As ever UTB !

Serious question, from someone that hasn’t given you too much stick (not that I can remember anyway) why do you do initials.

You’re updating on the story and passing on more info that’s fair enough. So just say the name & take the credit if it comes off.
Same thing happens at work when managers are discussing us underlings.

I’m the only NH in our office though…

I would have agreed until recently and in particular after last night Seriki just gets better and better and I do hope JJK signing won't hinder Seriki's game time. I think this signing is with one eye on next season and I suspect JJK would be seen as next season's first choice right back with Seriki to develop and come off the bench if we need a more attacking threat.

I guess JJK will also be first choice right back this season too.

Perhaps Seriki could compete with Brooks for the winger slot?

He’s fast, direct and whilst maybe a little raw and inexperienced, offers a great deal and gives us an extra attacking dimension

If anything I think it’s Gilchrist that might get squeezed out by this Seriki will still be the more attacking option on the bench to change a game. I think JJK and Gilchrist will be in direct competition as the more solid starting option

I agree, but I'm not sure whether Seriki can be relied upon to stay fit. He seems to pick up injuries and I think our first choice pick in any position needs to be robust.

I don't see JJK walking straight into the team, so my money is on Gilchrist continuing as first choice RB for now. Yes this signing gives us the option of moving Gilchrist inside, but I would be amazed if we don't sign another physically imposing CB as well.

RB is one position where we have lacked depth all season, partly due to injuries. Seriki has had two injuries already and only just returned from the latest. Plus if rumours are true we might not be seeing Shackleton again for some time.

We needed another specialist RB in the squad, so all things considered I think this will be a good signing.

What rumours are those?

Actually excited about this signing. He's been consistently playing, playing well, injury free, lots of experience, good age . Could be our rb for a few years. Also Could help Seriki develop. Shrewd signing. I hope!!

Bloody hell.. hope he's alright.

Yeah me too. I don't know anything about it other than what was posted on the thread about him being charged. If true, it sounds like he is going through something awful.

Arblaster posted a photo of him and Shackleton doing rehab together. I have no idea whether he has any other issues going on, but he is definitely injured.
