I imagine alot of players don't care much in June while being on holidays and stuff. Now the start of July movement will pick up. Better players than these two are still free agents.

It wouldn't shock me if either/both got better moves and more money.

If we want to press high up the pitch in the 4-2-3-1 then our defence must be comfortable with balls coming over the top and that’s something Egan can not cope with.

He's also one of the worst players in possession i’ve ever seen. Every other ball was launched either out of play or aimlessly forward. Decent at the defensive bits but very limited.

To be fair though it did work when we had Baldock and Enda playing high and wide it allowed Egan to play those long balls to put us in behind.

it worked less times than it failed. Not a fan personally. Last 2/3 seasons he was probably the worst offender in the whole team for giving the ball away. But i will agree that it wasn't always as awful as it has been recently.

Really. I get that it's about opinions but he was the person organising the best defence the club has had, and he did it for 5 seasons. Conceded well under a goalagame in the Championship and the 19/20season was fantastic. Never hid, always took on the hardest opposition challenges, got so much better in possession, underrated in the air and I'm still waiting to see videos of all these goals we conceded from long balls. Club legend

Yes. Two very gifted defenders and absolutely amongst the best we've had in the last thirty years.

Both had shortcomings (I often pointed out Egan's to the dismay of Shoutbox). But if they didn't they'd have been way beyond us. Obviously.
Both players close to legendary status.

Egan was top class. Reliable, dependable and a leader. An excellent centre half and judging him over his 6 years, one of the best CH I've seen at BDTBL.

Really sad to see him go. I thought he was part of the fabric of the club.
