No, but it's supposed to be an interviewer's job to at least try and find an interesting angle.
I'm not really sure what they could ask in this situation though other than the typical new contract questions

Better than the Garry Richardson (BBC Radio 4) who really grinds my gears.FAQ for Blades contract extension media
"So John how much are they paying you then? Is it true there is a captaincy clause in it? - as we all know Bill hasn't got many years left in those legs...
"What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?"
"do you think the music we will dub onto the social media post announcing your contract extension will be edgy enough"
" What do you think the wife will spend it on?"
"Can I borrow 50 quid until payday?"
^Sheff Utd media man rings jobcentre etc.
I'd be annoyed too if I got asked the same non-questions repeatedly.
"You've just signed a new long term deal. You must be delighted"
"That's not a question, but obviously I am."
"You obviously like your time at Sheffield United and at Bramall Lane"
"That's not a question either, and I don't know what I'm supposed to add since I've just said exactly that."
"Do you think those couple of goals at the end of the season got you over the line with this deal?"
"No, I don't think that had much to do with anything. I really doubt the club would have let me go in favour of spending money on a higher scoring central defender."
I really hate this new trend of being conversational in interviews and making inane comments instead of trying to find an interesting question for a player.

Agree, and in 50 years time we'll end up having the 'Pig' debate about who said it first. It was them, let them have it, its shiteCant get on with that "All Blades aren't we"
