Hoping the centreback is Lopata, lovely little article in polish media with him today saying he no longer wants U23 football and wants first team action with Sheffield United or on loan and would know by the end of the month.
Article in the Star yesterday suggesting that Lopata could force his way into the first team reckoning at the Lane. With Egan hardly pulling up trees there may be an opening at centre half alongside Davies.

A few of us have been saying since pre season that this lad would probably improve us at the back, without doubt in the air.

Personally I wouldn't be averse to a back 3 of Egan...Lopata....Davies

As good as he’s been and as well loved as he is by everyone including myself I think Nash could find himself in the same box as didzy a lovely player who doesn’t fit under the new gaffer

Nash? Do you mean Egan? Apologies if I've missed something.

Egan was phenomenal in the Wilderball system when it worked. He stayed put in the middle of the defence and his remit was to head the ball away, occasionally mop up behind the other centre halves and, if he got it, to give the ball to a midfielder as quickly as possible. He'd be perfect for Burnley...that would be £12m please, Mr Dyche.

That, IMHO, wouldn't work as a back three. Egan has zero pace and the turning circle of a polar bear. Jokanovic seems to be trying to move towards a 4-3-3 formation which would leave Lopata, Basham, Egan and Ky Gordon fighting for the right sided berth next to Davies (or Robinson if we're desperate).

Sorry bash 😂 also although right footed lopata played LCB for the academy sides with graham in the middle and Gordon RCB

Bash isn't exactly blessed with pace and yet made that position his own. Egan is also decent going forward with the ball when the inclination takes him.

At the end of the day we can't consistently defend crosses well with our current set up, so a change could help in that regard.

Agree that 4-3-3 is the likely outcome over time though.

I’d take Bash over Egan to make room for Lopata

I think Egan has made some huge mistakes that have gone in-noticed / mentioned.

and his new boots are lead lined……

Jebbo is in the squad tonight. Been pictured by United. Im feeling a brewster X jebbo partnership to be honest. No point risking billy. I feel like Brewster being the more senior striker might help him

Jebbison situation is reminiscent of David Brooks ,one minute hes looked ok ,and going to Chesterfield on loan ,a couple of good performances ,we have a rethink and every other fucker notices ,then his days at the Lane are numbered.

That kid Burrows at Peterborough,19 and came through their ranks, they give him a shot and he's already got 2 from midfield, surely we should have had Jeb on the bench and gave him minutes before we even talked about him going out.

I hope he does well. I hope same for Brewster too.
Keep - Yes | Sell - No

Rumours that Jebbison is heading to Everton may be premature….

Essentially giving no other club the chance to sign jebbo on loan due to a high fee as soon as he rejects a move to beerschot
Athletic have just confirmed what I was telling you all about. As soon as he rejected the move to beerschot, they blocked all his other possible moves by placing a stupidly high loan fee on him

Nope. They can jog on.

Not reliving the whole DCL scenario again.

They can't spend that much because kf FFP anyway so they'll be after a bargain again.

Really grew to hate these twats after their constant gloating on that deal.

Tell them he's simply not for sale. Then tell them to fuck off. Then fuck off some more.

Seems a bit harsh that we're essentially making it very hard for him to get game time unless he conforms and moves to Beerschot.
RND also didn't want the move there.

Yeah. I've been willing to give the United World model the benefit of the doubt but it's not sustainable if it involves strong-arming our promising youngsters into overseas loans they don't want. Surely the board should be thinking of Jebbison's potential improvement under JFH and imagining how much it might increase his value?

You can't blame young kids for not wanting to move abroad. It's a big step when you don't even know the language. I changed my uni course as it would have involved 6 months in Belgium ffs! It's unfair to try and force them there.
