True, but he was a part.
Unless he plays in the Championship this season he will not be ready for the Premiership if we go up.
If he goes out on loan to L1 what does he do next year if we have been promoted ?
Plays in the Championship?

...with us.
Absolutely if we’re still there. If we don’t get up Rammers, Baldock, Berge, Brewster, McBurnie will all have to go so ironically It would be the best chance for our brilliant U23s to come through with us earlier than they probably would.

have nothing to back it up but those on the Sunderland forum are now saying Rotherham are interested in jebbo. Which would be a better move, Sunderland or Rotherham? I’d say Sunderland.

Rotherham. Doesn’t have to move and Rotherham are a good side that create a lot of chances at that level. I’d say Warne is as good a coach as Johnson but less of a nobber too.

Sunderland would mean bigger crowds and possibly bigger expectations than Rotherham. Sunderland will probably be expected to get automatic promotion while Rotherham will probably be expected to be in and around the playoffs

I'd be inclined to say Rotherham, but I can see pros & cons to both. I just feel that if it didn't go well at Sunderland, in front of a large, expectant, boisterous fan base, it could be the breaking of him. It can get quite toxic up there. Of course, the flip side is it would give him decent experience of what it's like to play here.

But I'm risk averse & Rotherham would have more patience. Stick a re-call option in there & keep a very close on him to January.

I'd imagine whoever is prepared to give him most game time.

If he can force his way into the team at Sunderland and have McGeady as his supply line then this should be better than a team they doesn't create much.

Sunderland should be the club for him this season. Big club, big expectation, needing a new centre forward to own it for them up front following Wyke moving on, whilst McGeedy is ready made for giving service to him from out wide. I expect thead to thrive if he joined them.

Another club where he would do well is at the Millers where Paul Warne would coach him well and bring his game on. I feel it would be a mistake for him to go to Burton or Doncaster though as the former I can't see challenging, and Doncaster are all over the shop at the moment and i see a relegation season for them as it stands.

rotherham for me likely to be challenging for top 6 and no movement needed

I wouldnt let him out of our sight for all the tea in China..

He looked a threat in one of the worst attacking teams the Premier league has ever seen..

What's the obsession with loaning them out to watch them demoralise into nothing players, or get crunched and ended before they've kicked a ball for us..

Put him up front with brewster, let's see how much they want it..

Scoring 1 goal in the Prem doesn’t put him ahead of 4 proven at this level strikers

Take issue with loaning them out and seeing them become ‘demoralised into nothing players’

a spell away playing didn’t appear to hurt - Walker, naughton, Lowton, sharp, DCL, ramsdale etc

And from our side players like hendo, coady, Cahill etc all certainly benefitted from playing adult football.

We should pick the team that is going to play him.

Would be daft that he becomes a bench warmer - the kid needs to play games to find out if he has the appetite to learn, graft AND score goals.

He is at present nothing more than a very good prospect with hopefully huge potential............go and prove it.

UTB

I'd rather he went to a team who played actual football. A team like Rotherham would be ideal. No travelling far, quality coach in Warne.
Rotherham as much of a decent side as I think they are, are very much kick and rush. Burton probably play better football, to be honest

Great prospect but no harm in going on loan. We have alot of strikers at the min when fit.
McGoldrick, Brewster, McBurnie, Moussett and Sharp. With Burke also able to play up top.
Jebbison would find himself in and out of the team whereas on loan may get starting every week.

Interesting to think of how Slav will line up for Saturday and also who he picks up top.
Seems to indicate 3-4-3 potentially. McGoldrick I'd think will start. I think Moussett might and then it could well be Brewster with the others coming back from injury.

I’m not sure it’s that important with strikers. You just want him in a team that creates plenty of chances. We were full on kick and rush under Bassett and I’d say, if anything, it benefited Deane and Agana.

True, and I'm not saying they wouldn't be a good move by any stretch. But I think Burton would actually be a really good move too so I think discrediting them is harsh.

I don’t think I’ve seen them since JFH took over again. I’d prefer him to go to a team that’s going to challenge for promotion and I’m not sure that’s Burton but it’s also about game time. If Burton want him as a first choice and Sunderland, for example, are looking to bring in a couple of strikers and he may end up on the bench, there’s a good argument for him going to Burton.

I’d be happy with him going to most L1 clubs tbh, the vast majority are pretty well run these days with decent managers who are thorough in their preparation.

I think learning from JFH would be huge

I think I would prefer Rotherham as it's closer to home and he can come to training once a week. although not sure this is possible with Covid bubbles. Burton next.

Sunderland could go anyway and I think is more riskier. Not sure if they have pulled up any trees in the market so far to improve themselves
