One of the best signings so far for me :)
Fully agree, if this lad was still in a two/three year deal with Tranmere they would be demaning £750k plus. Hopefully we can get him back to his previous form before his injury but if anyone can do that Cloughs the man to do so.

Must be looking to offload a few now? Can't see where Cuvelier, McGinn & McFadzean fit in.
Does this mean we've given up on Coady?

so he has signed and he big mates with Jose Baxter.

Yes sorry folks i got the players mixed up.

Ok, a couple of strikers (decent ones an all) and a rb and we're ready to go! :)

Almost forgot, a cb if Harry goes and then the rb can then be Brayford, cos we'll probably have the moolah to get him

Great Signing.

Its great to see we have 5 players in before the end of june!!!

5!!!! Yes!!! 5 players!!!

When was the last time that happened?!111!!11!!1111111111111111111111111!
Is Davies not a new signing? ;)

All we need now is confirmation of the signing of Gromitt and we have a great partnership in the making :)

Any good..?

Apologies for sounding all knockerish, but what's the all the optimism about this lad based on? Don't know the first thing about him personally.

Just another option in midfield.

It's 6 isn't it?
  1. Wallace
  2. Basham
  3. Davies
  4. McNulty
  5. JCR
  6. Butler
The OS are classing Porter as a signing but that's not right.

Officially it is, as his contract is being left to expire and rather than renew or take the option, he's been offered a new one which will take effect from the 1st :)

Know what you mean though.

McGinn for me. I really want to see Cuvelier given a chance, if his attitude warrants it.

I think you're right and I can't see a future for McGinn. Also, now we have signed Basham and Wallace the midfield is starting to look a bit more athletic so I am wondering about Doyle.

Cloughie has also gone down the 'right kind of guy' attitude with his signings with Smithy(butler) and Wallace both being club captains. This would be helpful if young Connor develops this summer.

Clough on bits of news/speculation other than Wallace:
- nothing further on Maguire since those 2 rejected bids. If it becomes apparent at the end of August that he's still with us, we'll sit down again with him. All down to him though, he has to want to stay. He's been a bit vague. We're under no pressure either way
- O'Grady on a list of numerous strikers we're potentially targeting, just in our mind, we haven't made contact with Barnsley. We don't have a particular mould of striker in mind, we're not going to be launching it to a big man, we're looking at any good striker that's available.
- Cuvellier rehab going well, will start work in September and could be available for loan in January.
- Harrison McGahey, aware of contract situation and been in touch with his representatives, promising young centre half. Bit focus on other areas at the moment
- Alan Shean, no longer something we're pursuing now we have Butler in
- one or two more signings to come, a striker and a right back

Good signing and midfield looks the strongest area of the team (how many years since we could say that) looks like we will be offloading McGinn and McFazdean at the very least maybe even Doyle too. The good thing about the signings so far is half of them are leaders and will be vocal on the pitch something else we have needed for some time.

That's what I've noticed;
Butler - Walsall captain
Wallace - tranmere captain
Basham - Blackpool captain

Clough did mention he thought we were a bit quiet on the pitch, nice to see he's bought a few more leaders in.

Knew about the first two, but did Basham ever captain Blackpool?

He also confirmed that Basham is coming to play central midfield.
