Fleck- not had the fitness he needs to be at his best for 2 years. Has always needed a long run of games to get going and always starts slowly. He’s a quality player, who if we can get fit and keep fit will still be a starter in this side.
Norwood- there must be a reason he ditched international football and it must be to do with the physical side of the game. So likely managing some long term issue. In a side capable of keeping the ball in tight areas and allowing him little more time he’s still a huge asset for us.

This new set of lads, used properly, will allow us many more options and perhaps take some of the pressure off these older lads being expected to play every minute of every game. Competition may also see them push on again and up their game.

Fingers crossed we keep them all fit and see our midfield dominate…win the midfield game you usually win the match.
You could be right about both Norwood and Fleck.

From my point of view, they have had the easier option for too long, with no one pushing for their starting place. Quite a few have pointed out that Hecky didn’t have much option against Watford, but to use his trusted long term favourites.

Even though both City lads are youthful and loan players, the lack of dynamism in midfield should no longer be an option.

I can't stop myself from drifting into 'The Stripper' music when I try and sing that in my head. Much in the same way that every time I try and hum the theme from The Six Million Dollar Man, it turns into the theme from Emmerdale Farm about 15 seconds in.
Haha! In my head, the old 'Rugby Special' music from the 80s always morphed into the 'Grange Hill' theme tune and the musical ending in The Stranglers 'Golden Brown' becomes the tune from the old 'Rainbow' TV programme.
"Never a frown, da, da, da, da, didit didoo, diddle, diddle, diddle, up above the streets and houses..."

How young does he look?! Got to be straight into the U12's surely.
Looks younger than David Brooks...and he always looked about 12...wouldn't be upset if he was as good....but from reports and videos looks better.

Yes, I totally forgot about that too. I think COVID and that has had an impact on him. I could be wrong but it does make sense.
training & fitness stats are recorded.....why would we still be playing Fleck if figures are significantly different ?

From a mad Man City fan-

Absolutely brilliant - so skillful the next Foden. We wanted him to stay and break in this year. Played about 10 games last year and every big club wanted to buy him. Basically he's Debruyne replacement plan
Look after him and enjoy.

The Droylsden DeBruyne?

I hope he's more De Bruyne than Silva. He needs to be physically developed and able to make things happen individually. The players around him aren't going to be as technically gifted so he's going to have to to be able to force the issue.

It's an exciting one and it sounds like it is going to coincide with Berge dropping back.

And suddenly the clouds opened up and the sun did shine brightly. At least til Saturday about 4.40!!

Maybe it's time to revisit the experiment of Berge at the base of midfield, but with more of a box to box licence than previous.
It hasn't worked historically, but we were playing in the PL then and he seems more confident now in his abilities.
It could kill a couple of birds with one stone were it to work.

A team of:

....................Wes
.......Anel.....Egan...Robinson
Bogle.....Berge...Doyle......Lowe
..........Ndiaye.......McAtee
...................Sharp

Bench: Davies, Baldock, Basham, RND, Norwood, Fleck, Osborn, Khadra, Brewster, Jebbison.

looks really strong on paper (even though injuries will prevent it from ever happening).

Just a thought on becoming a more mobile team with better ball carriers to get us through the lines.
People will no doubt react to the dropping of Norwood, but I do think he hampers us a bit at times.

Heck seemed to allude to this being the possible course of direction in his interview today.

Could be seeing Berge at the base in order to accommodate Ndiaye, Khadra, McAtee (2/3) in the team.

I don’t think De Bruyne has looked as good since Silva left. He wasn’t just good on the ball, his movement off it was great, he’d drag defenders out of position to create space and was always in a great position to receive a pass. He could receive a ball when marked and not lose it. If McAtee plays like that, he’s going to make some of our players look a lot better.

Heard it all before , till he produces something like Brooks or MGW I will save my praise , good luck to the lad tho , and I look forward to giving my full backing we he turns out in a Blades shirt !

An opinion on the McAtee loan from a Man City fan channel.
They seem disappointed he's leaving and feel he could have seen a decent amount of action for Man City this season FROM THE BENCH.

He's says his style of play is closest to David Silva, he's known as "The Salford Silva"
but also says he can dribble in tight spacers like Georgi Kinkladze, remember him?
and parts of his game also remind of German international Gundogan.

19yo Man City CAM. He’s been linked with a Championship loan next season. 18gls and 7 assists in the PL2 this season

Think we have to realise that to get the flair, skill and class required to replace MGW, we need to look at players hungry and destined for bigger things with the naivety of youth. McAtee fits the bill i reckon

We’ll highlighted bongleblade, shame Sunjihi pipped you to it

What a fucking lad he is!, got nothing but love for MGW, fantastic player, seems like a top top bloke, bigs up the club constantly by the sounds, and a proper professional!
Wish him every success for the future, and if we get promoted, I'd be happy to spunk £25m on him, no probs!
Going to Forest by the looks of it😭

Loan to buy, sadly not possible - Man City are holding too much faith in this kid.
