I would imagine it's them that are reluctant to sanction it.

Riedewald's a nailed on starter for the rest of the season if he does decide to sign and we can make it happen. We don't have anyone else to do his role.
Arblaster and Peck would be competing for the one shirt and it's very much Peck's to lose.
Forget Tom Davies, his career is looking beyond salvageable sadly.

Agreed, even if Davies was fit enough next week, I still wouldn’t be extending his deal when it terms at the end of the season. Soumare isn’t our player, for me personally he should be at the bottom of the pecking order. Time will tell regarding Riedewald but I would be offering his at least a 2 1/2 year deal now. Not sure what we are paying Godfrey in wages but getting rid of him could be a like for like in terms of balancing the books. Matos is still only 21 maybe if we can ship him out on loan to the end of the season that will get some game time and make a decision in the summer

It was reported recently that there is no break clause in the loan for Soumare. I can actually see Soumare becoming a very good player in a year or twos time. He’s a bit raw at the moment but has all the attributes. I don’t see us paying €8m in the summer to see if he fulfils his potential though.

We may try and loan out Matos though, he’s miles down the pecking order now and with Arblaster coming back he’s even further away from the pitch.

He did yeah but the chances of us hitting the criteria which presumably given the club he came from, his age and progression it would have meant promotion to the Premier League is highly unlikely, I would personally prefer to look after our own future talent

Whilst a drop in performance was always likely to happen, it’s very worrying how much it dropped especially when it’s against a poor team at home.

I wasn't expecting much of Arblaster tonight, just to rebuild match sharpness. But, once he got up to speed, was impressed & with that many minutes in his legs. But, 100% agree about missing Peck and Jairo tonight.

I do feel for that Soumare with the OG, had he been able to sort his feet out - he'd have cleared it.

Totally agree. As soon as I saw the lineup, I knew we’d have our work cut out. Not because of the poor quality of back-ups but just because of how disjointed the team would be. Plenty of players throughout the side who have very little experience of playing with each other. Sometimes you can just strike a bit lucky with that. But generally it’s tough.

He was also linked to a “few championship clubs” and Dutch clubs the week before that was announced. If he wants out and he wants to cash in I don’t blame him in the sense of securing your future. However he does have a wife and kids and culturally it would be a big shock for them to end up in Saudi, if you are a big name like Ronaldo you probably can tweak a few rules here and there however its whether he is happy to accept the culture change. According to the press we are keen to keep him (and Bamford) personally I think he is a Premier League player (possibly top end Champ) the decision is with him. Like all of the rumours they are that until pen to paper and the dodgy pictures of him kissing a badge are done.
