As a club we should just cap the amount of money we allow ourselves to spend!
Anyone reported at the time at 5m on the whole has been a disappointment.
Brewster
Ramsdale (ok, we made a bit but he only started to play once down and had lead in his shoes the first three months)
Cannon
Berge I liked but sold at a hefty loss
Archer
McBurnie, hefty loss
Mousset, hefty loss
Robinson Callum, hefty loss
Freeman, hefty loss
Hamer
Souza
The latter two done well but the rest? Even in Mousset and McBurnie’s cases you have to tenuously say they helped keep us up one season to justify their fee, then they left and we recouped zero transfer fee making a huge dent in that upside.
Even this season, we were looking at Dunne and Darling and signed Mee for free, Riedewald for free having signed Campbell for free and O’Hare on a free.
Better we just put the brakes on in spending fees!
Yo can accept the odd Tom Davies lacking fitness or he doesn’t have an eight figure fee around his neck!
We just seem to be very bad at spending big money.
