Their goal was lucky at it came from a massive deflection which fell perfectly to their left winger
But he still had a lot to do with Godfrey to beat. It’s standard for a fullback to show the winger down the line, so it’s a more acute angle
But he managed to cut inside, found himself central on goal and slotted it in giving Cooper no chance.

That goal was lucky but Ipswich had 2 other good chances so could be 3-0 up at halftime.

Positives
Think the midfield have knocked it around well. Think Peck has been OK and Matos and O’Hare have been busy trying to close down.
When going 1-0 at least we’ve been more positive, altho I think Ipswich have naturally sat back a bit protecting their lead.

Negatives
No creativity up front, think Brooks and Barry are confidence players and both look low on confidence. We just don’t look like scoring.
Yet again 0 shots on target and yet another game where we don’t even work the keeper.
Cannon has hardly touched the ball but doesn’t seem to run into space as though he’s hiding and doesn’t want the ball.
Think Burrows has been poor again…both in defence and attack.

Overall Ipswich look a bit better than us and deserve their 1 goal lead.

I think he knows he’s only going to get the ball 3 or 4 times in an entire match and feels under an insane amount of pressure in those rare instances.

Obviously he’s not blameless but like most I haven’t got a clue what we are even trying to do.

Seems to turn his back when our players get on ball and head up..is he looking for a killer ball to split defence?

Who knows.

If he starts second half keep an eye on that…

He obviously wants to play with wingers (I think, having to guess as nothing is clear), but if he, or whoever the shot caller is, invested in another CB over more wingers, then we are in bother (I know Ogbene can't play). That front 3 offers as much Jack Duckworth, Vera Duckworth and Rita O'Sullivan.

He has to take a different approach, has to. Don't think he will. He's one of the 'I have a way of playing' managers who seems to get commended in modern football. As opposed to the winners who say 'i will find find a way to win with what I have'. Given it's a bloody expensive team in terms of wages and fees.
