Wins what looks like a bidding war for control of the football side of the club ie this reported consortium. If he loses, then control will go to the Prince providing he stumps up the money.

That is what the option triggered by Sheffield United limited is about. First option goes to the Prince but as others have suggested there will be options to counter- propose.

I have no idea how it is resolved if neither accepts the money offered. Stays as it is I suppose.

I would expect the formula for calculating the share valuation is included in the share agreement. Promotion this season would be sticking point for obvious reasons. The real estate can also be valued but why would the Prince want a loss making hotel valued now at a lot less than actual cost? ( although it may of course be included when the original deal).

As I said a few days ago, McCabe started the process, which some originally missed, more to come yet, as Nixon says, quite clearly.

As does every other newspaper and mainstream news organisation of all political persuasions in this country, that doesn't mean that some of their journalists have contacts that provide accurate information from time to time.

When the Sheffield Spar reported that the last derby vs the south Barnsley porkers was being held at Swillsbrough and on the Thursday evening, even going so far as to recommend a pub in S6 for a pre match drink.

My faith in journalism was confirmed.

I’m a bit confused. The only reported consortium is the one Nixon has suggested Kevin has put together.

Because of the agreement put together when the Prince joined, the first option to buy SUFC has to go to the Prince who would be buying out Kevin’s share.

Prince has seemingly said yes but there is no information on whether he has additional backers.

I think the least likely outcome is Kevin, Prince and the consortium are all in harmony and together.

I could be completely wrong but one or the other from Kevin and the Prince will go .

Someone mentioned KMc has investors lined up the day the news broke.

Saying yes and raising the money, either way, are two different things. Even if an agreement is reached.

We do love a good rumour don’t we.

This is gonna rumble on for the rest of the season, which isn’t good.

Suppose what might have happened is as follows.

Prince isn’t stumping up the money as was hoped/agreed. McCabe wringing his hands a little wanting to get things sorted, especially as we appear to be attracting very positive media attention for a change on both the pitch, and the club as a whole,(academy, fan base etc), this means he may be missing a good chance to find a genuine big investor to have us playing on a level playing field to the others around us financially.
I know this seems a bit simplistic, but the hokey kokey at boardroom level with McCabes leaving then coming back, says things aren’t going as planned.

So, McCabe being the businessman he is, will not stand still and has sought a way to get rid of the Prince if he isn’t going to invest as was agreed. There must be some agreement in the original contract that has triggered the alleged potential sale to the Prince. That may be that he takes over upon our return to the championship, or a time based agreement. If the Prince isn’t stumping up the money, then there isn’t always the possibility someone else might. So Km actively finds someone else and tells the Prince if he doesn’t buy now then they will sell elsewhere.

This creates a few possibilities.
1. KM Sells to Prince as he is obliged to do so from the original agreement.
2. Km sells to new investor and we have two owners still.
3. Prince and KM both sell.

This could all be a ruse by Km to force the Princes hand, it could be genuine and we are in for a bit of a power struggle. But being the owner of the land and ground KM still holds the strongest position. He can source other partners knowing exactly what is required.
Here are so many possible theories and outcomes I would literally be here hours going through them. And I wouldn’t stick my mortgage on any of them.

But after the chat he gave the other day, Wilder being clearly in his corner, the hokey Kokey at board level, McCabes clear grumble about the Prince I think there may be something in this.
And if I were a betting man, i reckon we have an interested party looking for the lot. KM prefers them to the Prince as Prince ain’t showing the money as he said. So he’s actively looking to get out of the original deal and prepared to assist his favoured bid in doing so.
What happened the other day Is just the first part in that process, and this is gonna drag on. I just hope that the original deal and stubbornness from one or both of Km or the Prince doesn’t impact on the team. I want this sorted and settled ASAP.

The article said that he was ‘heading the plan’. It could be McCabe’s idea for the Prince to buy him out with the support of this consortium.

I think some people are assuming there’s a boardroom battle going on when actually there’s been no real evidence for it.

Or maybe McCabe starting the process forces the Princes hand?

I don't see this as a big love in between the two.

Oh quite possibly. I think what I’m trying to argue is that nobody knows either way so why assume the worst?

Complete non story. its early Feb so too early to fill the rag with made up 2+2= Maybe 4 so lets fill an inch with this. I mean the club announced the Prince was taking over the club so unless he never picks up the phone and pretends we don't exist he will still have to invest millions even if he never sanctions another signing ever again.

The club actually announced he was in negotiations to take over the club. There's a difference. According to that announcement, it doesn't seem it was HRH who offered, initially at least, to buy McCabe out.

Just because HRH has activated a clause doesn't mean that the deal has to be agreed?

Surely thats were negotiations come in?

I would assume that Kev could sell his stake to anyone he chooses. But is obliged to look at HRHs offer.

The club statement says McCabe activated it.

Or maybe McCabe starting the process forces the Princes hand?

Or, maybeeeeeeee Kev's had another one of those Nigerian billionaire letters and due to his age related situation has forgotten how that one worked out last time.

Do you think it may be a pay up or fuck off type ultimatum? A test so to say?

My opinion, yes. Posters have said KMc has investors lined up and now so has Nixon. As yet, is there any news about the Princes finances or backers?

Here's a nice CT, HRH has bought into Beerschot. Maybe his finances are stretched? Kevin knows this and uses it to his advantage.

Da da da daaaaaah!

Likely? I have no idea, :)

I've spent a good while reading this thread and I am non the wiser about what's going.

Some people have clearly put a lot of thought into it though given some of the lengthy posts speculating about what might be going on.

As ever with Sheffield United, especially at board room level, the truth is likely to be far weirder than what any of us think.

So my money is on a return for Sam Hashimi. At last we might get some balls at executive level.
