Souza having a scan on his hammy won’t be fit for Sunday. Hamer also shouted over that he’d pulled his hammy.

We could be without both of them on Sunday. The rest look knackered too. We just need to get to the international break
Can we sign a CB & DM in the International Break ?

Asking for a friend.

Of Wilder's

Sadly we are about to go into the 'Sheffield Derby' with a 'Hecky type' ridiculously long injury list/ It feels like as follows will all be out of the starting 11 at least:

Hamer - carrying injury
Campbell - Maybe now picked up an injury late on yesterday ???
Peck - carrying slight injury - maybe groin - but might be ok to start
Cannon - ankle knock - but might be ok
Souza - hamstring - likely back mid-Apr - if no op required
Shackleton - ???? - Supposedly available - but who knows??
Clarke - Back for Cov C
Gilchrist - Back for Cov C
T.Davies - Back for Cov C
RND - Out fo season
Arblaster - Out for season

This is beyond bad luck now something deeply wrong in our set up regarding player health and conditioning. So strange as well as we were fit as butchers dogs under pestridge previously.
I think the problem is possibly at the recruitment stage. We seem to take a punt on players (Campbell, Shackleton, Davies, Souttar) with clear long standing problems. I think this is then exacerbated by conditioning.

Tbf you've mentioned 8 there that could easily be in the squad Sunday 🤷‍♂️ Souza was on the training pitch photo Monday and CW might be bluffing and saving him.

Only Davies, RND and Arblaster are definitely out sunday.

If Hamer is still carrying an injury then he is hiding it well. He seemed to be moving around fine last night and was striking the ball well enough.

That being said it might be a disaster for him to come off the bench anyway. We saw how impactful him and Brewster were last night.

Even if Hamer is carrying a slight injury - I’d much prefer we start him than bring him on at 60 mins. He is a creative player who should be on the pitch to start with. He is not however a player to bring on for last 20 mins when we are trying to close out the games and close down spaces for the opposition. So I’d start him on Sunday & give the pigs plenty to think about from minute 1.

Recruitment stage is crucial. We built our team in July/August and our squad in January. The Jan signings are impossible to get anywhere near fully fit if they haven't been playing. They are rotation options which is better than nothing. The July/August players won't be as fit as the legacy players and most other team's players. When you add in the Oct/Nov/Dec overplaying of players and the resultant (some may say inevitable) injuries that also knocks players fitness back. If you want a pick me up, extrapolate our squad going into next season and ask yourself whether you think think this will likely be an issue again next season.

I'd be shocked if he didn't start. I think he was partially rested in order to start.

You love to exaggerate!

I'm not sure what part of my post you thought was an exaggeration.

Souza's injured his hamstring enough times that you'd be inclined to believe him when he says "my hamstring has gone."

I think he missed a few weeks last time, came back for a half, then missed another month..

There's clearly something a little underlying with Hamer & Souza's hamstrings. Seems to be a recurrence.

Leta be frank here, our squad is not fit, we have a woeful constant injury list and many players that can only last 30-60 mins as well as perma sickies Davies, RND and Shacks

Another reason Wilder deserves manager of year, he's taking us to the top flight with a reserve team

i would take a draw sunday and it wouldnt suprise me if we went back to 352 for the sty with seriki and burrows as wing backs choudray hamer and peck midfield with o'hare and campbell up top maybe more like 3511

I would consider that progress and doable. However Mr Stubborn wouldn’t. He’ll start with a midfield that doesn’t function and then change it when we are two down.

When did Cannon pick up this ankle knock? He’s hardly been on’t pitch.

I think we sign better players than other clubs but they often come with a question mark around fitness/injures. Probably why we get them!

Wilder himself said our midfield was lacking v Bristol.
I'd love to know how he proposes to correct that without putting an extra player there.
Give Hamza & Peck a line of coke ?

All he has to do to convince himself of his own error is look at the possession stats in the first half on Tuesday

Agree….its a risk but it’s a good way of picking up higher quality players at a discounted price.
If Campbell didn’t have injuries, he would have loads of clubs wanting him, so his valuation would probably rocket and doubt we’d be able to afford him.

Bit harsh including Souttar whose injury record prior to joining us was an ACL tear in 2021. He hadn't missed any games due to injury in over 2 years before his Achilles injury on Boxing Day.

Campbell should be fine to put the ball in the Wednesday net on Sunday if (and it's a big 'if') Wilder is to be believed and it's an impact rather than a soft tissue injury.
