Injuries

The alternative is more Bennie Traore's and Slimani's. There's a risk either way and sometimes it works out like Campbell has this season or Didsy did previously.

The alternatives were those sort of players due to PA's limited resources. I hope we can move away from needing to take these risks on players with our new owners.

Souza and Hamer both off injured. Any update?

Souza could be seen saying his "hamstring has gone."
With his record, I think that could well be his season over.

I don't think Hamer was injured, looked more like cramp / fatigue.
He shouldn't have been on the pitch as long as he was though, the right call would've been to leave BBD on and switch him over to the left.

Alfie Gilchrist, Harry Clarke and Tom Davies are all out until after the international break.
RND & Arblaster seemingly long-termers.

We are starting to look a bit thin on the ground again.

Souza will be a huge loss if he's out.
A real difference maker at this level. As important a player as anyone in our side, in my opinion.

You love to exaggerate!

The first sentence is true.

And given he's already missed 10 games this season with hamstring problems... should it be the case that his "hamstring has gone" I think it's a reasonable assertion.
No exaggeration.

Seriki doing 45 was less minute managey than I expected. On this basis I think Wilder might be intending to start him v Wednesday

Yep - I don’t expect us to see Souza until end of March at best now. We rushed him back before the Burnley game and that was a mistake. Better to forget him for Sunday & try & set up as best we can. I’d take scrappy 0-0 draw now.

On the highlights of the Preston game you can see Souza gesturing that his hamstring’s gone. Would not surprise me if he’s out for a month but hopefully not.

The annoying thing about that match was neither Hamer or Souza needed to start against Preston.

Souza having a scan on his hammy won’t be fit for Sunday. Hamer also shouted over that he’d pulled his hammy.

We could be without both of them on Sunday. The rest look knackered too. We just need to get to the international break

Hindsight is indeed a wonderful thing.

If an x chromosome sperm had hit the jackpot instead of a y chromosome sperm we could all be talking about boys now and enjoying our new nails whilst drinking Aperol Spritz.
