Injuries

Most of these injuries have happened in matches I believe? I know some will say that's because Hecky over works them but presumably everything Hecky does training wise will be in approval with the fitness guys and if it wasn't I would imagine that the Prince would be javing words.

Wish Egan a speedy recovery. Think TD is going to be like this all season. His body is battle hardened to the PL with being out so long. Think it takes a good few months for it to be the case.

If your squad is significantly lower in quality and less athletic than your opponents , your players have to compensate by sheer physical effort which puts their bodies under greater strain , leading to more injuries.

Injury list:

Lowe
Osborn
Baldock
RND
Egan
Basham
Amissah
Jebbo
Osula
Tom Davies
Coulibaly

How the fuck can Davies go from being Struggling for this weekend's trip to Fulham to out for months.

The management of these players is beyond ridiculous now. Cant account for impact injuries like those of Bash's and Egans but at the same time neither should have been on the pitch to start with.

Lowe
Osborn
Baldock
RND
Egan
Basham
Amissah

Osula

Coulibaly
Imagine someone hands you the list and you take a close look:

Amissah
Basham Egan RND
Baldock Davies Coulibaly Osborn Lowe
Osula Jebbison

"How did we get on with that lineup in the league cup?"

"Lineup? That's the injury lost two months in, mate!"

Absurd isn't it? It used to be the training pitch but most of those are a result of matches. The Footballing Gods really catching up after they were caught napping last season!

Only dubious positive is that it gets slightly harder each week to pick the wrong team as you can only pick from about 15.

How many injuries picked up home versus away, do we know? Over last 2 years
Wonder if our pitch to do with any of them or not?

This is a very interesting point which I've also been wondering about..

Dare we ask if it's the Desso pitches that just don't allow the same movement of the boot when a player is turning, as an all grass pitch would, due to the embedded unnatural fibres?
We are so badly affected by this now, and it seems to have become far worse (not better) since we converted the training pitches to desso last season.
I'd expect most PL pitches will be Desso too.
The old pitches could get slippy or 'claggy' when wet (most of winter), but you'd slip and slide around, but not really hurt yourself unless you came into contact with another player. A lot of injuries now happen but there's little to no contact.
Should a proper study be done on this for the welfare of the players?

It's an absolute joke! What on eart is going on. Puts it int9 context that we are relegation bound, no matter who's in charge

People keep saying it's down to lack of signings, most of the injured players don't make the starting 11 yet they overlook you need good squad depth. You don't need a Lowe or Coulibaly to be starting but you still need them to be available as a sub.

We have no depth and it is not down to a lack of signings. We signed more than enough players this summer. It's injuries that are fucking us over as we have no scope to change anything during a game.

100%, how many clubs have 3 left backs out injured long term? With RND, Lowe and Osborn fit maybe we wouldn't have to rely on Thomas every game.

One comes back then another falls injured.
Brewster back, Egan gets injured west ham.
Fleck back, Davies and Basham gets injured Fulham.
I bet you could say that for every game this season and last.

Revolving door of injuries yet some still keep saying "It's the same for other clubs."
