Hope for return of crowds

To be honest everything is unknown and often contradictory.
Unless it’s a top quality mask that’s been fitted properly then they won’t protect anyone
but no one has been offered training on how to fit masks and you can wear basically anything on your face.

There are several people exempt from wearing masks next week....like shop workers, the police, diplomats, people with breathing problems etc,
The hypocrisy can be seen at football matches.....players and coaching staff arrive at the stadium wearing masks....then why they play they don’t wear masks.
On the touchline coaching staff are exempt from wearing masks but PL officials on the touch lime all wear masks.
The players aren’t allowed to shake hands but are allowed to hug each when they score. It’s all quite bizarre.

If this virus is so infectious that why has the death rate returned to normal weekly death rates before the virus arrived.
The police have never worn masks or practiced social distancing.....and none have died of covid. Wonder why?
There’s been a media campaign and advertising about the dangers of this disease...it’s fear mongering and irresponsible brain washing.

am i being stupid (dont say anything 😄 ) but why cant we go back to stadiums if we all wear masks

Only problem with that is I think a fairly high percentage wouldn't wear them or take them off inside the ground probably followed by a chorus of "We are Sheffield United we do what we want".
Also I don't think Stone Island do face masks.

Only mask that works is a respiratory mask

My wife has tested positive for antibodies meaning it's likely I've had it too (we had symptoms in Feb).

She's had 4 negative tests since late March but the accuracy of the antibody test trumps the Covid test easily.

Let us who've had it in (cue yeah but antibodies don't last etc....)

I actually think if the R rate stays below 1 when more and more things open up, then pressure will start to grow.

Money talks.

Really can't see how this will work with season tickets - the "socially-distanced crowds" it mentions would have to be a a subset of ST holders.

Don't think I'd be willing to renew my season ticket on the basis of a minority who are "immune" being allowed in, if I don't know if I'll be one of them.

Great news for Non-League as everything below the National League will be able to have fans back. With those above unlikely to have crowds back at full capacity this could save a lot of non-league clubs on the brink.

Addison....in the UK less than a handful of police have died....the facts show that deaths from Corona virus to healthy people is extremely rare.
Many in our nation are now scared of their own shadow. What next”
Ni one allowed to leave the house when there’s thunder and lightening?
No one allowed to eat peanuts without training regards how they can get stuck in your throat.

There’s a risk in everything. Life is a risk but you just get in with it.
Flu is a big killer and still around...many people don’t even bother taking the annual vaccine...but the risk is so low it’s no big deal.

Two children have died in China from wearing masks.....they were running and the masks prevented them receiving enough oxygen...so should masks be banned.
That’s another point....people with breathing difficulties are exempt from wearing masks because masks reduce oxygen intake.
..they are unhealthy and unnatural but appreciate they are a visual sign of vigilence and offer re-assurance...so that’s a positive.

It will take time to regain public confidence (who have been scared by the media), so the strategy should be a gradual relaxation....kind of what’s happening already.

7 x more flu deaths than Covid at present, according to health figures.
Hope we can move forward a bit quicker than we have been doing.

We could be allowed to return to the final game of the season at home to Burnley 🥳 10,000 maximum.

I hope the FA are discussing something with regards to the FA Cup Final. It would seem stupid to have it in an empty stadium on 15th May, when 10,000 fans could attend two days later.

Hopefully common sense should prevail here.

The Japanese an Chinese have been wearing masks for years to protect from infection but also poor air quality from smog.

So one of the matches I’ve paid for which the club owes me from last season could be a dead rubber against Burnley?

Hopefully I won’t get drawn out of the hat for that match!

Just over 8k it will be so 1 in 3 ST holders from before will be able to attend if they do it like that.

I think for this one off I'd have no probs all those previous ST holders wanting to attend could register or apply and they pick out 8k from those.

Would all fans be desperate to go to a dead rubber in a third full Lane? Maybe they would be a huge demand. I'd go just as it had been so long since going but think some would rather use one of the matches they are owed for a game at a fuller stadium and one that has some significance...which would be August albeit a lower league.

Be interesting to see if in August we can get back to full stadiums or whether large numbers will be incrementally built up...the guidance suggests if things go ok then we could have full crowds and maybe even away fans. The latter excites me maybe more than going to the Lane. Love an away day out on a sunny day in August!

It'll likely be ballotted. At that point its a lottery, but 1 in 3 is a good chance.

Not sure I’d be overly bothered about being in the stadium with 8k, to see us wave goodbye to the top flight. Much more excited about a full house for the start of next season!
