Was really poor of our fans to leave at 90 mins, it was like a mass exudes. Can't blame wilder for being annoyed
Wilder should tell the players to not take over 5 minutes to return and applaud the Kop then....... especially when it's cold. I won't criticise anyone for not waiting

Edit - if he's referring to fans leaving when there are minutes still to play then I agree. But I assumed he'd be referring to after the FT whistle because it really was quite empty

No it was because people left at 90 minutes and there was 7 minutes extra time. It looked as bad as when we lost badly last season

Wilder issued a "where are they all going? We're top of the fucking league" in the direction of the crowd as everyone started piling out on 90 minutes.
I agree with CW. It's pathetic how people walk out but it wasn't as bad as the crowd walking out of St James' Park before the end of Newcastle's match.

Although it was freezing cold, I can understand people wanting to warm up, but we did see some of the best individual displays for a while and it was a shame that some didn't stay to show their appreciation.

It is noticeable that fewer fans are staying behind to applaud the players after home wins, it’s almost as if they don’t want us to go up again!

What I want to know is if people make a lot of noise at the library do some of the punters chant 'reading at the football.'
No but when I saw this, I chanted 'Duh, duh, doo, library in a football...'

It was a very cold day and the SS lot had consumed all their Werther's trying to keep warm , so cue a mass exodus to the sweet shop

I think if it was a hard fought win the fans would have made more attempt to show appreciation... but we coasted the game without having to get out of 3rd gear, carried Brewster all match and still looked very comfortable.

Me and the kids stayed to clap them off but there were only as many people as at the Scunthorpe walk of shame match.

Bizarrely on the upper tier BL end most folk fucked off on 88 mins. Wilder is right to be annoyed to be fair. Leeds fans get behind the team and make an intimidating atmosphere, our fans are crap in comparison

I usually stay and applaud the players but I’ve been getting more and more pissed off when the players stand and clap the corner of John st for 5 minutes, are they clapping their families? If they are why? They haven’t paid to watch them, probably been sat in a warm box and haven’t got to sit in traffic to get home

Probably something a bit more fundamental involved in that we've been promoted twice recently so there isn't the same thrill along with the nagging feeling that another season of hidings would likely follow if we do manage to go up.
We're also signing or attempting to sign players very poor PL teams have deemed not good enough which doesn't exactly set the pulse racing.

The players spend a lot of time fucking around before they decide to go to the fans. If they want the applause maybe they might want to speed it up a bit.

Last sentence seems an unnecessary dig.
Can't see the quality of potential signings having any influence one way or another on the atmosphere yesterday.

No, it’s definitely “bollocks to this l’m not stopping behind to clap players who are deliberately trying to mount a promotion challenge”…………

Have you never heard of the expression “whore at a christening”?

The end of game applause thing might seem like something minor but it's exactly the sort of thing I'd expect Wilder to be all over, but there's zero sign of that

If they want to wave at their families for 5 minutes they should do that after everything else

They should maybe start at the Westfield corner, South Stand, Kop, John Street and leave the Family and other assorted hangers on til the end (don't know where to fit the BLU though)

Yep, something like that would suit everyone better

The mass of our support is on the Kop and SS. Yet they're the ones they take a fucking age to get to

Just think it was annoying that fans left when 7 minutes left to play they could at least stop until the end. Doesn't mean you have to wait and clap players just watch until final whistle , show appreciation and then go. It looked bad yesterday especially after we played so well

They should start the fan clapping BLUT first, giving 2 fingers and some fuck offs to the away fans left. The players are to polite these days compared to how they used to be, could you imagine Whitehurst, Bradshaw and Gayle "waving to their families" they'd be more likely to be strolling round with a fag on go and a can of Stones.

It's a strange addition to the match day over recent seasons, is there really a need for a lap of honour every home match? Save it for the big ones like pigs, or when we actually go up. Back in the day, we won, lost, drew, and the players waved their hands and disappeared down the tunnel, the fans went home. Fine with me.

Similar, to the GCB song at the start of each half, it's too orchestrated and unnecessary, another social media vessel. The GCB singing at the start of the second half was apathetic to say the least. Maybe time to bin that, it just doesn't work very well now. As this thread has highlighted, our fans (like most home ones) just don't want to sing and create an atmosphere, you can't get blood from a stone.

For those saying that home fans all over the country don't create an atmosphere, you should have watched Forest v Liverpool the other night. The home support was fantastic. I was ashamed at my own admiration for it. Even the lasses and the old blokes were on their feet singing, jumping about and chanting. Yesterday, when the penalty went in, it was difficult to make out if the kop were actually celebrating. Everyone was already on their feet, granted, but no arms in the air, no jumping up and down, just polite applause. More like 'digits' rather than 'limbs'. I've been to shows at the theatre which have had more raucous audience appreciation.

Forest are having their best times for over 30 years though. Not sure how good things were when they were struggling in the Championship.

Struggling in the Championship? Is that what we're doing at the moment then?
No, but going for a third promotion in six years, some of the excitement about the Premier League may have lessoned. I agree with you Id love to see a better atmosphere at the Lane, I think it would take us making a go of it in the Premier League (by that I mean not being slaughtered every other game even if we still go down) for that to happen.
