Overall the atmosphere was ok last night. Mainly positive. There were a few boos and discontent in the second half when Bolton piled it on.

However the bigger picture.

I think the majority of fans realise CW has been stitched up by the owners. Especially with the O'Hare sale/replacement fiasco.

The impact of this is huge - tactically it restricts us but it also has a huge affect on the players and the roles they are being asked to play.

We have an opportunity as a fan base to now create a real togetherness with the squad. This includes every single one of them, from Cooper and Donovan to Shackleton and Rothwell.

I'm not talking about it being rainbows and unicorns on here, we will still have issues with performances/limitations/tactics, but the real key thing is on match days.

I gave my head a wobble yesterday when I made a few remarks about Shackleton coming on at right wing last night - but no matter what I think about his ability etc, it's not his fault he's been asked to play there. Thats on others.

The only way we get through this period is by the fans and players been together, through thick and thin.

This isn't a call to arms or a rallying call. Not sure what it is. Guessing it's a 'fuck you' to the owners.

I know usually we want the players to lift the crowd. But this season they need us more, without us on side we are fucked.

Thought the atmosphere was surprisingly good last night. It's easy to be swayed by all the negativity, doom and gloom merchants.

I think we have to separate the ownership shenanigans from the team. ie support the team and give them backing but question what the owners are up to separately.

As for Shackleton coming on - it allowed Donovan to go back on the left wing and score that winner - a brilliant tactical change (maybe)

It reminds me a little of the early Warnock years, when we knew we were up shit creek, but people used to get behind the likes of Uhlenbeek, Murphy, Santos (most of the time anyway).

The good thing with Wilder is that you never doubt he loves the club. That has its pros and cons but at present I think he knew full well what was going on this summer (hence the extended contract) but I think he also thought he could best protect the club by being in post and doing the best he could with the resources he gets.

There is no one better to manage us for the next season or 2 with the squad we now have.

All "We" (by we I mean all supporters, staff and players) can do is try an show Sheffield United for the best that it is.

A successful side will be more attractive to new owners than one that isn't competing. That doesn't mean promotion, that means performing at our best and making a mark in every game.. We vent our frustration by showing the owners what a proper English football club is really all about. Those 30,000 packed into BDTBL.
