I’m optimistic about our future this season, but let’s not get carried away with a few good home wins eh.
Agree things can quickly go pear shaped.
Blackburn Rovers started the season winning 3 out of 3, however the signs were there that they weren't as good as their top of the table position suggested.
So it's no massive surprise that they've been brought down to earth with two successive 3-0 defeats.
I never judge us too much on one off results or even one off performances.
Against Watford I was concerned. Although we looked solid, only conceding a daft totally avoidable goal
I was concerned by our lack of creativity. It did enter my mind that we were over reliant on MGW last season and without him we might finish mid table.
However since this match we've looked very good, especially in defence.
At no stage last season did I think we had a team capable of promotion. I even felt a bit weird playing Forest in the play-offs because I thought our team was massively below PL standard and needed another season to develop in the Championship.
It's early days (as you say) but the signs, regards performances, look surprisingly good.
Take the Millwall home game, impressive 1st half then we sit back and defend in the 2nd half. Normally I'd feel nervous thinking we'd concede against a dangerous Millwall side but they could have been playing another 90 minutes and they still wouldn't have scored because our defence looked so solid.
Credit to Sunderland, they gave us a game and adopted a positive approach but we were still dominant.
Top of the league Blackburn were shockingly negative and we made them look shockingly bad.
This team has far more quality than the Wilder promotion team, we also have a much stronger squad than the Wilder promotion team, so the signs looks really good.
