The signings in January 2018 were all out the door well within a year.Shankly, Ferguson, Clough, Mourinho, Wenger. All sacked during their career. CWAK know the score, no matter how much love we have for them, the board will be starting to get twitchy. He's got a weak squad and spent XYZ on it. In January, he'll be asking for more. Based on what we've got for our money in last two windows, you'd have to be mental not to think they'll be going "hmmmm" during the discussions.
Many of his signings have been abysmal frankly.Yes Chelsea have improved their squad. Let's not pretend we haven't spent money. I don't seem to remember what other teams have spent being an issue last year when we were taking points off them.
Look at the players we've got and what they've cost. We've spent half of what Chelsea have and still have a Championship squad. We can't sit here and go "well look at where they've come from" when we've broken our transfer record numerous times to get them in. The only players that excuse can wash with are players like Bash, Fleck, Norwood, Stevens, Baldock etc....and yet those are the ones who still to this day remain our best players. It leaves an awful lot to be desired for our transfer policy.
We have only played 8 games ffs, plenty of time yet to find 3 worse teams.Unfortunately I haven’t seen 3 other clubs worse than us this season. I guess we’ve just got to accept that we’re shit and prepare ourselves for the inevitable.
There's plenty of teams worse than us. Alfreton Town, Grimsby Town and Met Police spring to mindWe have only played 8 games ffs, plenty of time yet to find 3 worse teams.
Think one of our many problems is Wilder/Knills tactics to overload the top of the pitch include the CB”s and the attackers being out of position. We don’t play forwards as forwards, we don’t slip the ball through for them to run onto from midfield (when was the last time that happened resulting in a goal or not?) instead they drop into midfield to fill gaps or end up with chalk on their boots ont sideline helping to get defenders in the box. Ffs it’s a mess our failing “system”It is seriously concerning to me that, illness aside, McB & Brew would have been our front pairing today.
That’s a well used and normal, deserved clicheWe are cheapskates. Always were, always will be. UTB
Fucking right he did. We wouldn't be losing in the Premier if he hadn't come along and kept winning and getting us promoted, the bastard.CW made this fucking mess
Being a football manager is a job. Wilder will get another job, maybe even a bigger, higher profile one. Good luck to him.
I don’t get another club. My dad doesn’t get another club. My kids don’t get another club.
Personally I want to stay in the PL for the good of the club and me, and my family.
No man is bigger than the club.
If players don't give a damn , it's the manager's job to sort it !nonsense. sorry but in my eyes Wilder has so much credit in the bank, like others have said we could go down with 1 point and his job should still be safe. this man has given us our best times since the 19th century, what he's done for this club in the past 5 years (after some of the shit we've all been through) is nothing short of literally unbelievable, and we are so far ahead of our curve purely because of his (and AK's) brilliance. this almost reminds me of the ranieri/leicester situation in 2016 where he's been so good that he's managed to raise expectations to totally unrealistic levels.
he should be spending tonight thinking about whereabouts in the car park he wants his statue building but instead he's instead spending it thinking about what he can do to turn around this wretched form because we've got people questioning his position due to terrible indivudal errors and the fact that some of our players have apparently stopped giving any sort of a damn. i don't know what our issue is at the minute or how we're going to sort it; but it is definitely not anything to do with Wilder.
What's coming out of Chris's mouth just now is NOT recognisable as the Chris Wilder of the last 4 years. I'm afraid that he's sounding like a defeated man.Same again tonight in his post match interview, “Look what they can bring off the bench, top three side in the country etc”. Chris, we fucking know this. What I don’t accept and I can’t believe I’m saying this of a Chris Wilder side, is a lack of effort and desire. OK we lose to Chelsea, but go down with a FUCKING FIGHT!!! Seeing Lundstrum jog around the pitch, with 50% effort boiled my fucking piss tonight. Wilder is to blame picking the cunt. I’d rather a 17 year old from the Academy play than that lumbering scouse turd with his overinflated ego. I also think a gravy train is developing now at United. Players obviously not good enough and past it being given two year contracts? Money that could be spent a lot better elsewhere. Watching that pile of wank tonight and the past 5 months reminds me of the last days of Dave Bassett. Thing is though, Dave didn’t spend £100 million on mostly bang average players.
I agree with you there, if we go down with a very low points total e.g. less than 20, it’s going to be very difficult to just flip a switch and turn a losing team into a winning one.
Wilder has emphatically said he will solely keep the majority of the squad as UK players
"I want to keep the base and the core group a British core because it works for us and me.Link ?
And ran back home when it got to tough up Norf at BurnleyNo he kept Bournemouth playing attractive football in the PL for 5/6 years?
I never mentioned sacking Wilder on an earlier thread just if people would start asking the question and got a crazy reaction. To save time scrolling through the thread the following informed responses will not agree with you....
Best of luck with the reasoned debate coming your way
For what it’s worth I think Wilder should and will stay. We will stay up top of a religation division of 5 teams
Here fucking hereI’d rather be in LG1 with wilder than taking a punt on someone like Pulis Allardyce etc
The obvious ones are
Mahrez bought for 500k sold to City for $67 mill
Kante bought for $9 mill sold to Chelsea for $35 mill
He did come up with the overlapping Panzers mind
