To be fair, he looks like he's come on a but for the experience at Solihull.... so far impressive enough.

To be honest, I am impressed with the overall quality of both teams. Nothing none league about it.... some of the football wouldn't be out of place in league one.

There's a firm belief the quality of the conference is overall a better quality than the majority of league 2 these days. A lot of money being spent down there and it's only the 2 up/2 down rule that's stopped a number of decent sides getting out of it.

As for Boyes, I always liked him from a technical point of view. Often felt he was a bit slow to play much higher but certainly looks a bit stronger than when I saw him last. This year spent away will have done him the world of good.
He had a decent game, made one of.the goals. Thought he was a bit out of position for the Chesterfield goal.

Any youngster looking to make a career in the game needs to read this.

Never mind the more fashionable clubs, we have an amazing record of helping youngsters to make the best of their ability and if they're good enough they'll get to the top wherever the first team happens to be in the pyramid.

That takes some doing as a lot of good teams and players down there. If they go up there has to be a chance we let him continue his development there.

What we have successfully shown for years now is that there is a route into the first team here for youngsters but probably more importantly for those who don’t there’s more chance of still having a career in the league system somewhere. As a parent or player playing the long game that’s got to be a big incentive to come to us.

Exactly, not to mention a route to the Premier League too. Walker, Naughton, Maguire, Jagielka, Lowton, DCL.

I’m watching Harry and the Moors in Moynihans pub in Funchal Madeira if anyone cares to join me. I will be sporting Moors shirt and Blades shorts.

Only game SM have lost since 8th Jan is a 1-0 to Stockport. Favourites today I imagine?

What’s Boyes’ back story? Local lad, or one who we’ve picked up at 16 or so?

I have fielded many accusations on here re my feet on the ground realism on our youngsters. Happy to take those on my broad back. Negative it's been said. I haven't seen H Boyes for a long while, since he was last in a Utd shirt. But jeez, I loved watching him play. Full of enthusiasm. Never stopped. Put a smile on my face every time I saw him. Right up there with Jake Wright Jnr. I think Harry has got a real chance.

I hope they all make a career out of football. Bonus if it’s with us.
