Would have thought there would be half a dozen Championship clubs ahead of us if Halford was available..

I doubt this as well.

The only chance would be a loan?

It would probably mean the end of our interest in the Beard as well. :(

Hmmmmm

GREG Halford and Danny Collins have both been made available for transfer by Nottingham Forest.

The Reds are not desperate to offload the duo, but feel they will be peripheral figures in the coming campaign.

And manager Stuart Pearce is willing to allow both men to move on, in the search for first team football.

Halford, 29, has featured regularly in pre-season, but largely in a central midfield role.

And Forest have a host of options in the centre of the pitch – and in the back four, where the versatile Halford would also hope to challenge for a place.

It is for similar reasons that Collins has been made available, with the 34-year-old down the pecking order behind Michael Mancienne, Jack Hobbs, Jamaal Lascelles and Kelvin Wilson, when the quartet are all fit.

While Danny Fox has shown in pre-season that he is more than capable of playing in a more central role, if required.

Forest also have financial fair play rules at the back of their minds, as they look to further slash the wage bill, by moving two senior players on.

Halford has made 70 starts and 12 sub appearances in two years with Forest, scoring seven goals. Collins has started 66 games for the Reds, along with five appearances off the bench, scoring one goal.

Hope it's true. Would love to see Gregory back at the lane. Would imagine he's on hefty wages tho.

It'd be a good signing, Halford was one of our best players when he played for us in the championship. He's a crowd favourite as well. Read that he's got/had a coke problem though and had a bust up about it at Reading.

Jim followed Halford today on twitter, would be a very good signing for our league if he comes in IMO

Yeah just saw that. Seems a bit random, maybe there is a bit of truth in it. Got to ask what Jim's doing if we don't end up getting him though. Maybe we're using direct messages to send out our contract offers now.

Clough could manage his coke problem ,more of a worry is the wendy horde who are obviously hooked on crystal meth.

Would be a better signing than Coady.

Yeah, I said it.

That was before he came to us wasn't it?

However, shit sticks so image how long Chedwyns shit sticks for (it probably just uncontrollably drops out of his arse too!).

I would have thought a coke problem would show up in the random blood/urine/heart screening tests they have to take.

I'd be amazed if it happened, and not entirely in favour given the player's age and the likely costs. But I've just had a text from a Forest mate who says his ITKers are claiming it's a serious proposition.

He must be on a good wage there which I'm guessing we would struggle to match, I think his versatility is something that would attract Clough and that long throw for Higdon could be a real threat.

....... and do we think that Clouhgie will know Stuart Pearce, a bit?

Agree about the long throw - can be very effective in this division - can make the difference between 1 point and 3 or 1 point instead of nul.

He would be an ideal player in the local derbies
