Linz, you're usually in the know. Do we know how much the second allocation is? Don't know if I missed it when reading the website but they didn't seem to say

I'm gonna let you read that link again in the post you quoted before giving you an answer ;)

Aaaaaaaaaah 2,000. I thought the link was to the OS. I'm tempted to get a couple as I think I have the points, but don't know whether to bother.

Thanks Linz

The problem with the 'crowds are going to drop' predictors are that they use this as one element of some long prediction, (crowds, relegation, pestilence, famile, that sort of thing), which they magically generate from Blackwell being manager, etc etc etc. This is done to prove a point that isn't well made, a bit like my teenage daughter, you know,

Dad:'Have you cleaned your room like we asked'
Daughter: 'No'
Dad:'Well you can't go out with your friends until you do'
Daughter: 'But thats not fair'
Dad: 'Yes it is. Clean room, then go out with friends'
Daughter: 'But if you dont let me go then they'll think I've fallen out with them, and then they won't like me, and, and you just want me to lose all my friends don't you?'
Dad:'Actually I just want you to clean your room, like we agreed'
Daughter: 'Well, I'll have no friends, and its all your fault...' etc etc etc

(I don't know if you have kids of your own...)

I've never said that crowds won't drop. They are bound to. Less money for luxuries like going to football matches = lower crowds. What I have warned against is people saying 'I'm not going while 'x' is the manager', or 'while 'x' is in charge'. It is wrong, and is exactly the messages that the piggies got themselves believing to become such a corrosive disaster, and part of the reason why they are where they are today. There are lots of reasons not to go to a football match but don't become a dissident supporter who 'won't go' because of this and that.

As for your long running investigation and castigation of Blades Realty (how's that going, btw), stuffing money into property might not have been the smartest thing, we'll see in the fullness of the economic cycle, but for sure it was a hell of a lot smarter than spunking the overdraft, and the VAT and the PAYE on a promotion bid like Cardiff have.

Looking across the city at the pigs, they had a business plan where they would increase the wages and budgets on ST sales of 16,500, and average crowds of 25k. Then they sold what, 14,000 and have average crowds around 21k. For sure their numbers don't add up.

What happens when they sell less than 10,000 ST's, as looks possible, and crowds drop to 16,000. What happens to us when our crowds fall to 20k, or any other club for that matter (except the top end of the PL and the odd freak of nature like Norwich) when that happens. Lots of businesses and industries are suffering, and thats just a fact of life. Football isn't immune from economic reality. What does appear to have happened is that Mr McCabe has done the hard pruning and got in someone to balance the books before disaster strikes us. It isn't popular because we feel that we should achieve more, but for many clubs just staying in business over the next 24 months is going to be quite an achievement...
I have spoken to literally dozens of people who have indicated they will not renew if Blackwell is in charge. By contrast, not one person has told me they will not renew for economic reasons.

Keeping Blackwell will cost our club thousands of fans and hundreds of thousands of pounds. It's madness.

Time for the banners to come out then at the Barnsley game?

" NO RENEWAL UNLESS HE GOES MCCABE"
" BLACKWELL = LOST SEASON TICKET SALES"
" SACK OR BE SKINT - IT'S YOUR CHOICE MCCABE"

Or are we that apathetic that we're just gonna hammer it out on here without doing something constructive to let the board know how we feel?

Has anyone still got the worst banner of all time - The fans want promotion, do the players?

Might be deemed apathetic. Or might just be deemed to be non-constructive.

Write a letter instead - they do get read.

To my knowledge, the blades have never really been that up on crappy political or even non political banners.

We're a football club not BA Cabin Crew

We're a (struggling) property company with a meaningless football club, not a BA Cabin Crew

Great idea.

Not made a banner since Easter '73 (or whenever it was when Leeds came and won the Championship at BDTBL) and that was stolen and burned about 30 seconds after I got off the 51 outside the Lane.

If you can provide a link for where I can get a "Fire safety certificate" for it I'd be most grateful as I don't want to spend half a minute or so on something that will be confiscated.

So....what else do we do to make our complaint heard? You say send a letter-and from experience, you get a stock template customer reply from some farty that never sees Mr McCabe's eyes . Most large organisations work like that - I know the company I work for definitely does.

So - you make the club aware in number. I'm not saying we all draw up a banner - I was speaking metaphorically, but you've took it as a call to arms - ,but by doing sod all we deserve what we get - which is utter shite- and the situation will not improve until drastic changes are made and the club are made aware of the feelings of fans.

It was such apathy back in the 90's that led to playing in a 3 sided ground for 2 years, a ownership near miss with a transvesite fantastist, and board members that consisted of a chairman who is still currently at large for his crimes, and another board member who has spent time for corruption, fraud and misappropriation of funds from his own company accounts.Money was going missing right left and centre, and we stood there and allowed it to happen. We also sold our best players for peanuts, saw certain people within the club pull the wool over the eyes of our supporters financially and were in a downward spiral.

It was then that some fans got off their arses and did something about it....as they could see their club going tits up if they didn't.Finally we saw a brighter future. But now we're going backwards again, and those who went through it the first time round can see some of the same mistakes being made again.Blind faith will not get us back to where we want to be.Sitting on our arses won't either. But making the club aware, that the customer is not satisfied with the quality of the product and service, might just do.

After all...

The banner at wembley when we played the pigs was a good one, it read.
"If Chris Woods can play for England so can I"
Pity that day ended in the usual let down!

4 tickets for The Sty coming my way. I must be fucking mad....:)
