Heading down to the game against Hull on 6th October and planning to go to the Golden Lion before the game.

Just wondering if there are ever any restrictions on walking to the Kop from there via Cherry Street, given that you’re walking by the away end?

The only restrictions on walking to the kop from there are the amounts of beer you might drink in the pub beforehand.

Went there the first time I came down and found it OK so have gone back every time since.

As you pass the Railway there is a loud programme seller on the corner blasting out his wares.
"PROGRAMMES, THREE QUID"

It is a local custom to wait until you've heard him say this several times on your approach then ask 'How much are the programmes mate?'.

Don't tell anyone, but the Kop queues at 14.55 on that end of Shoreham St are always shorter than those on John St.

Don't miss any opportunity to kidney punch any stray Hull fans as you pass them. Make extra effort to give any pregnant women, young kids and wheelchair users the full welcome.

Oh and Mr 3 Quid does exactly the same at the Sty. Must be a full time job for him.

I’m glad to report myself and my son made it safely from the pub to the kop without any hassle! :D

The barmaid was pointing out that the pub will be shut for renovation for the Stoke game on 23rd October, just in case anyone might be minded to go there before the game.

A bit of an oversight, surely?

Jaggy Blade Am interested to see that you are a Partick Thistle supporting Blade. How did you end up supporting the two clubs?
In my early to mid 1980’s panini album and English First Division influenced youth there was only one Sheffield team I’d really heard of, and it wasn’t United.
Whatsmore Liverpool were really my English team as they won everything at the time.
Then I went on a family holiday to Bridlington in, I think, 1987and had a day trip to Flamingo Land.
I was standing in the queue for one of the attractions and clocked a guy wearing a red and white striped strip with which I was unfamiliar.
I had a closer look at the badge and it was Sheffield United and from then on I started follow the results.

A long winded and unlikely story but it’s all true! :)

Saturday was my 8th ever Blades game, so certainly a low key supporter!
5 games at Bramall Lane, Hull at Wembley, the 4-1 debacle at Walsall in the League One winning season and Leicester in the FA Cup last season.

That’s 8 times more then I’ve ever been to Patrick Thistle, so fair play to you.

Just be careful you don'y accidently bump into Knowsnowt and set off his dirty bomb.

I went to flamigo land in 1987 and probably wore my Blades shirt.

Just saying like
Perhaps your namesake Marty Mcfly could go back to 1987 to confirm if it was you Jaggy Blade saw in the queue!

Maybe I really am Marty Mcfly, jaggy came on here as a pig fan on the wind up in a previous version of the last hour, happened to mention Flamingo Land in 1987, so I went back, true to form, to change the path of time for the greater good!
