I remember that. I think Starbuck set up some sort of Christian Supporters' Group (something like that) at SUFC.I read that George Moncur is a "born again" Christian. Reminded me of when Blades fans cheering Phil Starbuck's substitution as he was playing another poor game for us. He walked on the perimeter of the pitch feeling sorry for himself and didnt bother to return the ball (that went out of play) when Glyn Hodges was demanding it to take a quick throw in. Hodges showed his disgust towards Starbuck and the Blades fans sang "Onward Christian Soldiers"
I can think of a couple more...Christian Eriksen (Spurs) and Christian Benteke (L'pool)Starbuck did do that I believe. I'm also a Christian and you'd be surprised how many players are, mainly black players in this country, but a few you wouldn't know either. Now I've said that I'm trying to remember them! Daniel Sturridge, Steven Pienaar (Ex everton), David Moyes, Tony Pulis and Tim Howard the goal keeper.
Ernest Blackwell (our keeper in the 1923 FA Cup semi final) was a committed Methodist and refused to play matches on religious dates. He became a lay preacher after finishing footballStarbuck did do that I believe. I was surprised to see Moncur's celebration baiting the Charlton fans given his faith but I'd probably do the same if I scored against Wednesday for example! I'd love Moncur to sign o be honest but I just can't see it happening, but its just nice to be linked even if its complete doggy do's!
Moncur is a twat for celebrating goals in front of opposition fans, did it at the Lane, next game at Swindon, and Sat in front of the Charlton fans.
But they're not in red and whiteWe need a couple of twats in the team, this lot we've currently got is one of the most characterless teams I've seen in red and white.
We've got plenty of nice lads in the team/squad, what we need is a couple of cocky twats and a couple of nasty bastards, we might start getting somewhere then.
Hammond has recently edged himself in to that category for meWe need a couple of twats in the team, this lot we've currently got is one of the most characterless teams I've seen in red and white.

Just think if we'd got to that final...It was the first one ever played at Wembley - the famous White Horse Final with that huge, huge crowd spilling on to the pitch. It's a wonder that game ever went ahead.Ernest Blackwell (our keeper in the 1923 FA Cup semi final) was a committed Methodist and refused to play matches on religious dates.
