Woody for wingers, Currie for genius (unfortunately we haven't any these days 🙂)
And yes, fully understand the sentiment. Great players more often than not don't make good coaches, even United ones 😏
Alan Roberts and Ian Bryson as winger consultants 🤣

Anyone who is an assistant to Wilder or part of any coaching set up needs to be there on merit alone. Wilder got the job at United in the first place because if his record previously.

Billy Sharp will need to coach somewhere first in my view and price his worth.

This would be an ideal time to bring in the likes of Montgomery and Billy Sharpe for the future, then if and when Wilder departs say the likes of Montgomery is there ready to take over.

At last some sense 👍👍

If he's good enough, when the time comes, then why not?

This notion that only Sheffield United FC welcome back old players............

Believe Billy wants to play on even past this season.

He's getting a surprising amount of minutes for a 39 year old in league one with a side going well!

Definitely Billy and Bash. This is what Sheffield united are all about. You need to be a blade to understand this
I'd love to see bash get his badges and start out at the academy with Billy start our own progression route

Chris and Billy would produce a supercharged Blades and imagine the simultanious badge slapping!

Teams like Liverpool and Man Utd have always brought former players into the coaching setup. Some have gone on to manage the club.

Being a former player is seen as a positive. If they're a fan too, even better. It's only Sheffield where we see it as a negative thing. Did fans of Liverpool claim they were being too 'Scousey Scouse' when they hired Dalglish?

Give it a rest ffs 🤣🤣

Simon Tracey GK coach, Bash defensive coach, Tony Currie & Dane Whitehouse in for the wingers, Montgomery central midfields, Billy & Deane for the strikers, JOC gym trainer

Then we’ll just have the class of 05-06 & 18-19 as motivational speakers

Neil Collins for the scapegoats!

Leave him be, god it's desperate.
No one's saying he should come tomorrow. But as he's also the EFL's leading scorer this century, wouldn't you say he might have some potential as a eg striking coach - Bladey Bladiness aside?

Fucking scandalous that Paddy McGeeney isn't on the staff imho.

On a serious note if Billy goes down the coaching or managerial route when he finishes and makes a go of it, then maybe we'll see him back.

It is ridiculous though how many social media dullards are obsessed with bringing former favourites on to the coaching staff irrespective of their experience or credentials.

The same Dalglish who played under some of the greatest managers this country's ever seen, and then got bankrolled by blackburn who were loaded?
No comparison
