What has it come to that we are 'celebrating' 100 appearances for a player - testimonial after 150 maybe?

Great for him. Still really young for a keeper but showing he can be consistent.

I think he's done brilliantly. He's come through a lot of shit and I've nearly wrote him off several times, not least at Gillingham. He's grown as a man and he is one player I really think is a positive from this season.
There aren't many it's safe to say.

Well done George.

Well done to George Long. He's had 4 different managers, had ups and downs, been farmed out on loan, been booed by his own supporters, but is starting to mature and get consistency. Good on the lad.

One of our own academy products and a life long blade reaching 100 appearances is definitely not something to be upset about.

We have a lot to be angry at right now, and all frustrations should be aimed at the board....not some kid progressing in his career.

As there are less than 200 players in the entire history of Sheffield United that have achieved the milestone of 100 appearances I say well done to the lad.

On top of that he is from Sheffield, a lifelong Blade that has come through our academy.

He is also the youngest keeper ever to represent the Blades.

He has had his ups and downs. He's been selected, dropped, loaned out, cheered, booed and still giving it everything to be the best keeper he can.

Well done George Long, still only 22, here's to the next 100. :)

Anyone know his record? Clean sheets & goals conceded...it must be fairly decent as he was in the net for when we set the record of so many clean sheets in a season.

He's shown improvement this season and that's got to be down to Adkins' goalkeeping experience.
Always annoyed me how he never really used to command his box or come out of the six yard box for catches.

I do know that Will Grigg (todays scorer) has taken 14 league penalties in his career and has scored 12 of them. The 2 saved? George Long both of them.

No chance with the first penalty, let one in at his near post for the second goal, Good save from the second penalty.

Ho and indeed Hum!
