A Manager who has never been a professional footballer doesn't command the same respect. Selles only played for his University. The fans & majority of players at Hull & Reading thought he waa a joke. We all know our owners have spent a their money just buying us so they chose Selles because he has a Masters degree in sport subjects. So hes intelligent but that doesn't guarantee a good manager. The vast majority of fans knew it was a dangerous appointment but the owners know even less about Championship football than Selles does. We're an unlucky club.
So you know the majority of fans and players of both Reading and Hull to come up with that conclusion regarding Sellés? With me living in the next major town to Reading I know quite a few Reading supporters and they are ALL of the opinion that he was a very good manager for them. More importantly my near neighbour is a first team regular for Reading and we meet up at the odd social event and speaking to him only last week, the players thought he was brilliant and sorry to see him leave. That alone shoots down your claim.

Robinson was fully fit yesterday but has had a bust up with the coaching staff and wants to leave.

Cooper currently operating at about two third fitness, issues with his knee, he is not doing full training and is having injections to play. May need an op going forward but is playing through it as we have no real cover

Split in the dressing room over Selles already Robinson, Peck, Burrows are the unhappiest with tactics O’Hare also not convinced.
With all due respect, this sounds made up.

He spent yesterday on the CB's toes , he's an overweight lad who can't keep his temper and gets far too many bookings
BUT
he knows he can produce sublimely talented moments so will never get dropped and can coast along with us , never sorting his fitness or his temper , drawing a nice wage and having a chilled life.

I can't work out from yesterday's non-performance and ridiculous tackle for their first goal ,
whether he's now dropped to a level where he's just taking the piss out of SUFC a la Lunnycunt
Or
whether he's suddenly discovered 'ambishun' and sorted out a deal at a club where he'll actually have to get off his arse.
I normally just read threads and say nowt. However, regarding Hamer... I think he's a great player... but talk to anyone who works behind a bar in the flashy places on Eccie Road and they'll tell you that he's a regular. Likes his shots and his beer. I reckon that's why he hasn't fulfilled his true potential (yet). If he could add a bit of discipline and focus to his life then he'd be a top, top player. I hope he can do that with us. But I'm not sure that he will.

O’Hare was head and shoulders our best player on Saturday. I remain unconvinced by Peck, especially at DM. Hamer was quite quiet (adapting to a role back in the middle maybe?) and Burrows has had an absolutely terrifying plummet in form. No idea what’s happened there.

The defence was utterly atrocious. Disorganised, too far apart, littered with individual mistakes. As bad as I can remember since the 0-8. Having said all that, that game could have easily ended up 6-4. Pretty much everything went for Bristol City, we did dominate most of the match as bizarre as that sounds. Keeper had a near worldy, fortunate blocks and deflections.

There were some encouraging signs, just need to take our medicine and pretty much buy an entirely new defence, along with bionic knees for Cooper.

The hull and reading players loved him.

Y
Laney’s back with her intimate knowledge of Hull & Reading players’ inner thoughts!

Come on Sean Thornton get stuck in!

UTB & FTP!

Thanks for the heads up but don’t believe any input from myself can add to the (usual) mockery already expressed.

Ooh! Other than to ask if Tony Currie told her that?

Sunday night hangovers are the worst sort of hangovers aren’t they.

I'm sure he won't do it with us.

If he ever sorts himself enough to fulfil his potential , a wealthy club will recognise it and buy him.

But there's no way such a club is coming for him whilst he coasts along , enjoying whatever makes him overweight and relying on occasional moments of sheer class to keep him in the side at the Lane.

Not as extreme , but he's another Mousset in mindset.

So glad that you know all the Hull and Reading players, how convenient that just happens to be all the players from Selles’ last two teams, perfect!

Not true, certainly in Reading's case. Most Reading fans I know have nothing but respect for Selles - he got them playing decent football despite being in dire financial straits.

Can't believe this thread has gotten so much response (which I understand the irony of me adding more to it)

Brand new account with lots of extremely negative claims... Hmmmmmmm

Though its clear the poster has been to medical school by claiming someone is playing at "2/3rds fitness". Shame he wasn't at 3/4's or he might have saved thier free kick.

The Robinson rumour is plausible he's a scouser a move to a club just down the road from home with better wages would be attractive, I hope it happens for him once we get a few CB's in the door. The rest of it sounds like a load of bollocks to me if there was any doubt over Cooper Grbic would still be here not in Turkey. O'Hare seems to be one who at the moment is playing well, Burrows is gash at defending and does look to be struggling, Peck thinks he is better than he is and needs to get his head down and work.

His record at Reading is far better than his record at Hull. Reading fans generally have a good opinion of him, views are more mixed in Hull.

Utter bollocks.

There have been plenty of good managers who have not played professionally

I've heard the same. Apart from the bit about Robinson. And Cooper. And also about the split in the dressing room. And the lizard shape shifters. You did say lizard shape shifters, right? Come to think about it, we might be on about two completely different things.

Makes you think though....

What I do know is that Selles was pretty annoyed by the players slack pre-match routine. He was getting into a few of them about nutrition and warm ups in the hotel. There’s some videos floating around on Snapchat / tik tok taken by some of the staff.

I don't buy into this dressing room discontent theory. Lets not forget that Robinson missed part of the pre season build up so won't be fully match fit. On top of that he has the Wrexham interest to deal with. Bottom line is we are just desperate for defensive reinforcements.
