I’m not sure they understand the term ‘profit’.Have owlstalk started accusing us of profiting from the war yet?

Sorry my english, but we did we buy or loan him?
Thanks!Technically a loan, but more 'special circumstances'. Assume we are not paying anything to Rubin Kazan as his contract with them is suspended after a FIFA regulation change for foreign players in Russia.
Little bit of a loan, little bit of free agent.
Interestingly, press reports today state that Burnley have been denied the opportunity to sign Victor Moses from a Russian club by the premier league on the grounds of maintaining sporting integrity. Italy and Spanish leagues have taken a similar position. Seems odd but not surprising that there is zero consistency in how rules are applied.
We don’t know whether it is intended that we play him until clearance is given, but in the meantime he is lined up for next season ?Noticed the same thing. Presumably we've ratified it all with the EFL though so hopefully they can't come back on it.
In the meantime, imagine signing Victor Moses for the run-in...
It stinks to be honest.Interestingly, press reports today state that Burnley have been denied the opportunity to sign Victor Moses from a Russian club by the premier league on the grounds of maintaining sporting integrity. Meant to say EFL. No idea how the SPL got involved! It stinks to be honest.
If they were worried about sporting integrity then they should have a draft system like the US and a salary cap. Where is the supposed sporting integrity when you compare City's in or Chelsea's wages to those of Burnley?
Where is the sporting integrity when you allow Arsenal to call off their game with Spurs when it turns out they had one covid positive but did have plenty of injuries and a self inflicted suspension?
It's not as if Burnley have this option but nobody else does. So what's the big deal? Is it they stole a march on some teams the PL would rather stay up e.g. Everton?
Makes little sense that we would be allowed to buy in this new window but they should not. Though, after the league allowed the 4 yellow bastards to cancel on us with 8, 7, 9 and however many Hull had missing, only for us to have as many as 11 out during the catch up period, I'd imagine they were too shy to say no!
The PL always seem to think they are above others. It's why VAR is such a shit show because Riley tried to be such a smart arse having a high bar where the technology isn't accurate enough frame by frame to seriously uphold. They probably just read FIFA's message and thought it was a good opportunity to flex their muscle and show they decide their own rules. Given the reason why, it's quite staggering they would block players from earning a living when there is a war on, especially when you consider the player in question has played plenty in England.
It will be interesting therefore if the EFL stick to the last Thursday of March or whether they will entertain April 7th as the date of the last opportunity to sign a player.
Certainly us getting in early has been positive. I'm sure with more thinking time, and this window being more readily used, there would have been plenty of takers for a guy who can play right back and centre back, is a great age, already an International and who has the character to be captain of a club in a country that isn't his own.
Looks like West Ham were the next club trying as per Alan Nixon, attempting to get Neres and another player out of Shakhtar. If they won't allow Burnley then they certainly can't allow West Ham. Though now one of their darlings is interested, it wouldn't shock me to see a sudden rethink. By that time Moses will probably be fixed up elsewhere.
If it is April 7th, I'd certainly consider taking advantage and getting the second of two possibles FIFA allows you to take. Moses would be a good replacement for Bogle. My biggest concern would be Billy, even if he recovers this time. He still has potentially another 11 matches to play.
When I looked I saw three possible options from Russia; Czech Jan Kuchta of Loko Moscow, Norwegian Erik Botheim of Krasnodar and Loko Moscow's Frenchman Wilson Isidor. Those at Shakhtar, the Brazilian's and Traore from Burkina Faso I think will be prohibitive in terms of price or simply have more attractive suitors, though I'm sure we'd happily take the latter. It would be funny if we took a player West Ham couldn't!
I guess watch this space if others now try to follow suit in the SPL but then again maybe they don't have the cash. Afterall, the parachute teams are Fulham (already up really), West Brom (pretty much out of it) and ourselves and Bournemouth already went big in January.
Be interesting if we decide to dabble once more. Happy with what we've done anyway.
A striker, right back, midfield cover, erm.......![]()
Yes, but we are not any morehes european
but we come under uefa rules as far as transfers are concernedYes, but we are not any more
Harsh on Egan, I think he's still had a good season but maybe we're just used to his high level performances that anything slightly lower and we're critical. I don't think he's had a bad season, still think he's had a good season to be honest, but undoubtedly he'll have suffered from different partners on a regular basis. And I'm thinking that if Goode / Basham can get fit in the next 2/3 weeks the lad can replace Egan, who has been absolutely terrible all season ..... apart from a couple of games where he was just poor
