Really need to rest some players but who have we got to step in for this fa cup?

I'd say Rnd with mcallum at the back, maybe another start for one, brewster, maybe marsh for ohare?

Hopefully some players returning can get half an hour to ease back i to it for norwoch game.
Can also chuck in Baptiste, Curtis, Blacker. All should be competent.
No harm having a strong bench to try and do something last 20 mins if we need to.
I would definitely give Marsh and One some more game time.

I still love the cup, but where this squad is now we need to be really careful.

I have no idea who we rest or who we play. I just hope we can see the game through without damaging any players physically or scarring any youngsters!

Both Adam Davies and Faxon in the net, then go for a 4-4-1.

I'd start all of today's bench plus One, that gives us 9 plus 2 more kids

I`ve always loved the FA Cup and would love us to win it.

Unfortunately, apart from the ( reduced ) chances of lower league teams earning vital revenue, money for powerful clubs has eclipsed their interest in truly supporting the competition. This was epitomised by Man U not playing in the Cup in 2000 because of the Club World Cup. Why, with their player resources, they didn`t chuck in a team of youngsters I`ll never know.

They were responsible for devaluing the competition, and should have been banned forever from it in my view.

They were encouraged by the FA to participate in the Wotld Club Cup as it was thought it would encourage our World Cup bid.

If they sign me up ill do job in the cup, playing walking football from 4 to 5 on thursday but can still get to lane for kick off, it would give one of the regulars a game off and add some experience to the side, im only 67 so if we play the 15/16 year olds id bring the average age up, anyway if wilder needs me im ready, ( can somebody lend me boots as ive only got trainers )

You think the FA should ban them from the FA Cup after Man Utd did what the FA wanted?
I think that Man U should have made a decision to partake in the Cup. If the FA were happy with the decision made then both parties were at fault.
The FA, if that were the case, devalued their own competition. Absolute madness in my opinion. There again I`m an old `un who was brought up on the sanctity of the FA Cup.

Really hope the youngsters get a chance. Not just to give the others a rest with how many minutes they've played and amount of injuries we have. It be good for the lads to be able to showcase what they can do.

Cardiff will also likely play the youth team, just saying
Exactly this, they r in a relegation battle and have played the same congested fixtures over Xmas so will also be fielding a vastly weakened side.

I think there s some rule about strength of team u can field to stop sides going all reserves.

However I wouldn't be surprised if some of the players who r meant to be back for Norwich get a bit of a run out. You don't just miss weeks of football and come back match sharp so maybe some of the lads like Campbell, Souza, Seriki will get a few minutes to ease them back in if they r fully recovered

Perhaps, but their squad can’t be as severely depleted as ours?

If their second XI is not as good as a lineup including the likes of Boyes, One, Marsh, RND, Blacker etc is, then how "depleted" we are is irrelevant

Manchester United offered to play in the 3rd round with whatever players they had available but the FA refused. At that point they still held on to the idea that clubs had to field their "strongest" team.

Manchester United were completely innocent in that debacle. Which was pointless anyway as England never had a chance of hosting the 2006 World Cup which was the whole motivation for forcing them to play in the fledgling World Club Championship.

Just don’t risk any key first teamers, especially Anel or JLT, we have absolutely no real back up at CB

This once great competition is been completely devalued. The 3rd round used to attract bumper attendances. David v Goliath. Some shocks
Not anymore

Thank you for that info. I remember details more clearly now, but not the finest moment for either party.
