Enda Stevens

Stevens in that first prem season arguably the best LWB in England. Lost count of the times he nutmegged opposition players. One of the main reasons we're currently umming and ahhing over Max Lowe is because he's not a patch on Enda at his best (despite a relatively solid season). Finding someone who can do what Enda did well is key and would make the left hand side so much more comfortable.

Certainly my favourite left back. I was genuinely worried someone was going to make us an offer we couldn’t refuse for him after that first season in the PL.
Incredible to watch and in that season he was every bit as good as JoC was next to him.

Enda in his prime numegging players seemingly every match, was a joy to behold. Hope he as a bright future, whatever he chooses to do.
At 32 don't think the future is going to be too bright, not can always look back at a very short but successful stint as one of the best left backs in the country.

He’s 32 not 92! In football terms he’s getting on but in reality he is a rich young man. He has all the resources to do anything he wants. He can definitely have a bright future.

An outstanding statement from an outstanding player (remember the good times).

I imagine if he had sustained an injury as bad as JOC at the same time as him he would be remembered just as fondly and we might have still been chanting our appreciation of him at the end of this season as well. As he said himself his desire to get back may have tainted his ‘legendary’ status for some, but no doubt he always gave his all. The focus on the Wilder era seems fair to me, they were very special times for him, and many of us.

Enda has also been brilliant with my youngest lad so, on a personal level, I will always respect and appreciate him for that.

“Enda, oh Enda Stevens...”

Outside of football, yes

Gets in my greatest ever United team

Also, the most precipitous drop off in play I've ever seen, non severe injury related

What I also like about his farewell message is that he acknowledges his drop off in form. Admits he rushed himself back to play before he was really ready and at times it showed in his performances.

People talk about the Liverpool lads

Enda and George were better than them in that first prem season - truly outstanding and not appreciated outside SUFC

Good luck Enda - was a bloody pleasure to watch you and have you in our team .

The best left back we have had in the modern era…..by a country mile (legend….?)
Forget the drop off (totally due to injuries), remember his glory days, nutmegging his opposite number, banging in crosses and generally being a top player…
Rodger Neilson was better

Good move for him and a good bit of business for them too
Is it?

He hasn’t played well consistently for over 3 seasons and he’s become injury prone.

Good luck to him but I’m not sure it’ll work out very well for Stoke.

Free transfer plenty of experience if he keeps fit for next few years, good squad player

Great servant to the club. I hope he manages to keep injury free. Good move for him and the kit will be helpful to avoid any confusion. GLTTL
