In my 40 odd years of watching United I can’t think of many if any players in his position that were better than Enda when he was in full flow. I used to love Joe Bolton and Wayne Quinn but for me Enda just pips them both.

He’s been a terrific player for us over the years, sadly injuries hampered him over the last 2 seasons and never really got chance to pick up form again. Sad to see him go but the timing is right

3 amazing seasons where he was superb.

Complete drop off after covid and I do think ge suffered lots of injuries too. Never the same for the last 3 seasons.

However, his first part if his career was that good he's the best left back/wing back I've ever seen at the Lane. Part of a special team. That run at the end if the promotion season with his goalscoring spree. Then that firm in the Prem when he was one if the best left backs in the league...those nutmegs too every week.

Good luck Enda. You will always get a huge cheer whenever you return.

Unfortunately it was the right decision , he as well as us will know he’s not been “ at it “ the last few seasons
He’s gone with a lot of good memories , and with some good goals , and performances .
This is how to release players when the good times and seasons are at the forefront of all our minds
We all know- remember players who didn’t give a toss when playing for us in the last few seasons , yes you Lundstram for 1
we’re a business not a charity , all the players released deserved to be on merit , and yes that included Fleck as well ( in my view )
I think it’s a testament to what they’ve done for us since Sir Chris took over that they’ve all thought of highly
Thank you for all the great times & games you’ve given us
👏👏 always be welcomed back at Lane

I have mixed feelings about Enda. He used to be one of my favourite players and over the first two and a half seasons he was with us he was amazing, arguably the best left back we've ever had. Since lockdown he's been pretty much awful where I ended up hating seeing him in the shirt, as I knew he'd be poor. Over the course of his entire time at United I now look back not knowing what to think of him. Do you look back at the good times and ignore the bad, or do you look at the bad and question where did it all go wrong and why couldn't he play like that anymore. I'm left feeling neither sad or happy that he's gone. Enda leaving only leaves me more confused as to why Fleck is being offered another contract when he's mirrored Stevens over the same period.

Thanks for the good memories and for THAT goal, but the right call in releasing him.

One decent season, 2 stellar seasons, 3 poor seasons.

There's an argument that he was hurt by lockdown more than any other player.

I hope he can shake the fitness trouble and get himself a good gig. Despite my assessment of him he's still the best left sided defender we've had in my lifetime.

Personally I ignore the bad times and remember the good times, also he’s had many injury problems which has hindered him ever returning to the form we know he was once capable of. He really was exceptional for us and should always be remembered fondly by the fans.

first season in the prem Enda the defender was as good as any in the prem, best since badger and helmsley

wouldnt be surprised if hes got long covid how his fitness has dropped off
talents still probably there but mobility has fell off a cliff

hope he recovers fully and finds a happy place

I could ignore the bad times if it was one season, but it was for three and a half seasons (I accept injuries played their part), more than half his United career. There will always be fond memories but he sits behind Jon Harley and David Unsworth as far as my personal favourite left backs are concerned. I'm not saying they're both better than him, but they were my favourites.

That left hand sided trio of JOC, Stevens & Fleck was unbelievable. Oozed quality for those couple of seasons. Wish absolutely nothing but the very best for all of them.
I always felt like that left-side was the strongest part of our team and they could hold their own against anyone we came up against.

Loved watching Enda at his best, one of my favourite United players from this era.

Agreed, although was it lockdown or the loss of JOC that really harmed him? The drop in Fleck’s form post Covid won’t have helped him either - the 3 of them were a unit and linked so well together. A joy to watch at the peak of their game in the promotion season and for the majority of the season first prem. I wish Enda nothing but the best. Seems a nice fella too.

I thought he was rather good against Brum in his last game.

We are jolly good at writing over 30s off. Are we not ?😉.

Life in this old war dog yet me thinks.

Stevens was an excellent player for us. Probably a season or two too much but a great player on his day.

Ted Hemsley?

John Harley not in the same class as Enda at his peak. He was genuinely one of the best left sided full backs/wing backs in the league in our first season back in the top division. Harley never came close to that ever.
