Doyle....

I really like McGinn ,but every game he makes one nightmare pass ,2 today where he plays it blind. However he was excellent today ,I would probably play him behind Doyle/Coady and Scougall lke a quarterback it lets Brayford and Harris support the wingers more. Maybe controversial but I think getting a good striker in would leave Baxter on the bench ,until we are either winning or chasing a game and then he can come on in front of the midfield 2.

I was disappoointed with Coady today as I thought he could have pushed forward more and I can see an argument for bringing Doyle in instead of him for a game against the best team in the league.

However,Doyle let the team down against Fulham and should be made to earn his place back in the team.

I agree that Doyle should earn his place back in the team but I just cant see it happening, he will be back in on weds. I think Coady has potential but isn't quite good enough atm. We probably need to be more cautious against Brentford anyway.

Two wins in three games which is a far better ratio than with him in the team!

So you brush away the worst performance of the season when he wasn't playing?

We need him in the squad this season (maybe not next) . I am not convinced by Coady and the midfield needs someone in there who can put a tackle in whether that is McGinn or ,Doyle (or possibly both)

Lots of people were praising Coady when he first arrived, although I could see the lad had talent, just didn't convince me. Still lots of room for improvement but for me this lad is getting better everytime I see him, thought he got stronger the longer the game went on at Fulham and thought he played well today. Doyle will be back Wednesday though like it or not.

Perhaps he'll be back in as he's had a 3 game rest, the team have played a lot of football and some may need an extra few days rest. He may come back in Wednesday but perhaps it won't I guarantee that he'll be back week in week out

I like McGinn in this new role as the ball gets played quicker. Would anyone really want Doyle playing further forward?

McGinn has never been a favourite of mine, but yesterday (and at Fulham) he played the holding role superbly and I was surprised at the substitution conundrum. I would certainly leave him there for Wednesday's game, but Clough has a habit of surprising, so maybe Coady (who was a bit off colour) may miss out for Doyle. Personally, I'd leave it as it is, but Brentford will pose a whole different set of issues compared to Shrews, so who knows?

I'd be surprised if Doyle comes back in for Brentford. McGinn came off, probably to save his legs and Coady seems to be doing a job. So I can see that side of the team being unchanged.

The softer, fluffy, pampered players like flynn, Murphy and Baxter might want to rest up a little though

Purely on principle, Doyle should be left on the bench to prove there's no room for petulance. We can win games without him. He needs to be taught a lesson.

If a player in central midfield fails to perform, then he gets his chance. A repeat, Brandy style cannot and must not be allowed to happen.

Finally, why change a winning team?

I was told yesterday that Brandy was loaned out because NC doesn't like black players! Oh really?? Not because he's a liability and
likely to miss a lot of games through being mardy.

I don't think Doyle should come straight back into the team. He should earn his place and we don't really want to be changing a winning team.

That said I am not convinced by Coady. I think he appears at times naive (he is young though admittedly) and gives away possession. IMHO I don't think he will go on to be a Liverpool standard player, but will surely be better than our mire.

I don't think he should walk back in either but with the number of games coming up,he will soon get back in. I wonder if Brandy has a recall clause as we may need him as well

I am not convinced with Coady either which is why I think Doyle will replace him on Wednesday to play a defensive midfield role alongside McGinn which will let the other 4 midfielders (including Baxter) to break with more freedom
