I don't like unsporting behaviour. I think it's poor form for any set of fans not to find the sporting nature in themselves to applaud a team who have finished champions. Bradford and Chesterfield showed great dignity and sportsmanship when we played them at the end of this season. They were a credit to themselves. If there were Coventry fans at that game who couldn't find it in themselves to applaud a young U18's team for becoming champions then they really ought to be questioning themselves as to why they are bothering to watch this game at all? Because they aren't doing it because it's a sport, that's for sure.
If you sit near to me at any football match, you'll hear me shout "well played" if an opposition player does something good - and you'll see me applaud if they score a good goal. I appreciate skill and I enjoy watching it. I'm not so biased towards my own team that I can't appreciate good football from others. I also don't think that every goal we concede was because we did something wrong - sometimes it's because the other team did something right. I'm disappointed when others score goals against us - but it doesn't make me jump up out of my seat and start swearing and trying to blame someone on our side - or scream "Sort it art Wilder!".
I would say that I'm in the minority though.
There's a "sort it art" bloke sits near me. Always on comped tickets as well.
