Tbf to Henderson he thought he was promised the shirt off de gea. He doesn't think he was given that chance he was promised, fella in work actually says he did get a chance but didn't do great. I think the issue then was he was stuck as the backup, don't think Manchester United cared about the money. He could hardly throw a strop and refuse to play to force a move like say Ramsdale because he's a back up goalkeeper. It’s very disappointing that some players choose to think first and foremost about the money.
His best performances as a player were here. He would be assured to start games, and certainly get plenty of chance to show his ability again.
With the money he’s been on he’s already a millionaire, and he’s unhappy where he is and unlikely to play.
Shame he can’t turn to Man U and just say “I’m happy to go, reduce the fee and I will take only a small fraction of what I would be owed to sit here on my ass and get paid.
There has to be a figure where it’s financially sound for Man U to take that?
He’d open up many more options, be happy again and be back to his best, pushing for England spot.
I think things could have been very different if he had come back to us. Sadly the whole thing was mismanaged at the Manchester end.
