Gone Elsewhere Dean Henderson

Who'd have thought, considering their respective owners, that Forest would massively outspend Newcastle. The amount of money they're throwing around is simply not sustainable and I'm sure it will catch-up with them soon - it will be very amusing to watch when it does.

Personally, as much as I dislike them as a club, I don't blame any player for going there - whether that be MGW, Henderson or even Lingard. They'd be daft not to accept what is being thrown to them although in many cases their reps will be the ones guiding their decision making.

What's even more surprising is that Ramsdale is on a better career path than Henderson. Personally, I would favour Henderson of the two but his unfortunate situation with Man Utd really seems to have set him back, especially wrt representing England - he's probably now 4th choice at best. That said, he is still earning well over £5m / year so it's not all that bad :)

I have feeling he might be back here next season. To be released by Manure, would be a starter which is what he needs if he wants to play for England. Doubt the big clubs want him with many alternatives out there. Injury prone maybe, still a good young keeper. Wouldn't be upset if he came here.
I was right.....he'll be back playing for Florist against us!!!

I'm told by a Man U supporting mate of mine that their fans hate Henderson and want him out. Something to do with him slating the club.
He's way out of our financial grasp though - complete non-starter.

I think, he was allegedly found to be leaking gossip out of the training ground along with Lingard. Rangnick (via SAF I'd guess) froze them both out completely and fucked them off to see out their contracts somewhere else, of which Lingards expired at the end of that season.

The difference between henderson and gibbs white is that Henderson wasnt actually there in that play off game. I’m not really that arsed that he’s gone there tbh and I also think Henderson had way more of an affinity with United than Gibbs white ever had. He was also a much bigger influence on us as a club too.

Gibbs white was there, on the pitch whilst one of his then team mates got head butted by one of their fans. Then signed for them amid a backdrop of every single person associated with Forest trying to drag our club through the shit. I really hope that we dont do one of those forced, welcome back things when we play them next season. Cant think of any former player less deserving of it.
I don't know what MGW is on at Forest safe to day it will be a fair whack. Do you really think he would turn down their offer because of the circumstances outlined ?. We're talking footballers here.

No, he has every right to take the offer but as far as I’m concerned, he plays for Forest now. Given the events of that night, I wouldnt like to see us roll out the red carpet for him.

What a miserable little person you seem to be!

Just because you dont agree with me it doesnt make me miserable, Harris. Nothing stopping you clapping away next season. I’ll be supporting the Blades though.
If you don't find it possible to support the Blades AND appreciate players who have done well for us while they were with us then you do seem to tick a lot of miserable boxes.

I very much do find it possible, Harris.

Surprised you’ve survived on the forum this long if you think thats miserable, by your standards, the majority of threads on here you’d find positively suicidal.

MGW means nothing to me. "Thanks for your effort that season, off you fuck"

I’d love to have Hendo back here; and if money wasn’t a factor then I imagine that he’d probably opt to come to us over Forest.

The reality is that even if we were able to match whatever fee Man United would want for him, we won’t be able to come close to the wages Forest will be able to offer.

Got this feeling that “gone to Forest” will be the new “gone to Villa”

Is he actually that great of a keeper? Behind the defence we had him in for those 2 seasons, playing in the formation we did, we could make most keepers look outstanding. It showed with the season just gone with Wes that we were capable of grinding out 1-0 wins. The priority isn't in the Goalkeeper area, we made that budget mistake spunking out for Rammers luckily we were able to offload him to recoup the money back.

it isnt a priority but we definetly need another good keeper to come in to challenge wes i think we will be looking at young upcoming keepers from the championship or league 1

I doubt it.
Forest will mostly be shopping in markets we which we could afford to be in.

We'll be competing with Burnley, Luton, possibly Bournemouth and the relegated sides.

You do realise that if they spend £25m on a player, that asset does not immediately have a value of zero upon completion of the purchase? It is almost as if some people can't remember us spending £18m on someone to try and keep us up, it not working, and then, er, selling him for a profit

How many of Forest's signings last season do you think have increased in value?

They don't necessarily have to have increased in value, merely not completely gone to zero. If they buy Gibbs-White for whatever million on a five year deal and then sell him a year later for 80% of what they paid, that's perfectly fine as the value of his registration will have depreciated by 20% anyway. If they've correctly backloaded the payments in installments (which pretty much everyone does with every transfer, it only being a case of for how long) and correctly realise they'd need to firesale if they did get relegated, then like it or not it is never going to "catch-up with them soon"

Man Utd looking to sell him this year, Forest willing to pay £30 mill for him (according to Manchester Evening News)

Genuinely ridiculous the price players go for just because they're English

Seems mental that Man U are actively looking for a keeper atm too.

They've put a nearly 40mil bid in for that Onana haven't they? Weird to think they value a proven international goalkeeper as only worth 10mil more than Henderson, with his injury record and lack of playing time over last 2 seasons

I don't think Henderson's done enough at PL level for them to take that leap of faith.
He's also not good enough with his feet which will always hold him back at the very top.

My most ‘proper football man view’ is that keepers ability with their feet is a massively overrated component of thier game now in terms of importance

I really don’t care how good you are with you feet if you can claim a ball, make saves and command your area and defence.

I get the best keepers can do both but give me a solid keeper rather than a footballer who’s no good in net - like that keeper city had a few years back who was basically a hologram

I don’t believe it’s that that hard to work on either - ramsdale seems to be doing ok at Arsenal but was nothing specially with his feet here. All your asking is for them to be able to be to complete some fairly basic passes

Happy to stand corrected though - but if I was Man U I’d rather save 50m and give the keeper we thought was worth 100k + a week plus a shot.

With respect, when the top brains in football are viewing it as an important aspect of the game I'd be inclined to believe them over 'proper football man.'

No agreed - I’m not opposed to using data

I’m just saying you’re going to have to convince me that being able to complete some fairly basic footballing passes hold any weight when compared to actual keeping stats. I just don’t see it in terms of overall impact to the game.

I’d buy a ‘Keeper’ and have him doing some passing drills if it’s important rather than trying to make a footballer an adequate keeper. Which clearly didn’t work for the likes of bravo or that scandi keeper Arsenal bought

The whole reason Man U r after the Inter keeper is because he's excellent with his feet. If u r playing 3 at the back having a keeper who is a footballer opens up more options and effectively means you have 11 outfield players
