I couldn’t agree more with what’s written here. He is a great talent but right now, he won’t be the difference between finishing 10th and finishing in the top 6. His personal development for the next season is more valuable to us.

He is much better served playing in most games in league 1 than a handful of games here. We simply have far too many strikers on our books at the moment.

Yes, but most of them are gash. Why not send them out on loan instead.

Who is loaning them?
Who is paying their wages?
Who is going to make them agree to going on loan?
Well forest wanted Brewster, before his injury and Boro wanted Burke. Presumably these two would prefer to actually play rather than just feature in social media videos.

I think ‘wanted’ might be stretching the truth a bit. No one ever again ‘wants’ Oli Burke. Brewster would get a club but loaning him out to a Championship rival seems a very stupid thing to do, so we’ll probably do it.

Jebbison starts on the bench today vs Rotherham.
I know it's legit as a phrase but it's never sat well with me.

When you are in the XI, you start.

If you are on the bench you don't start anything. Quite the opposite. In fact you might remain there all game, so you don't in fact start anything other than a bout of inactivity.

Anyway, not aimed at you Bergen. I've always found this a quirky phrase. Finally got it off my chest 😉

Warnock wanted Burke. Pretty sure Wilder doesn't.
Forest wanted Brewster on the cheap.

I don't think we're likely to get any championship clubs coming in for our players with a good offer. I guess we might be able to swap, but I doubt we'd want to.

Well if someone has to go and the offer (including significant sell-on) is right, I'd be inclined to sell Jebbison. Personally and with a short term view, I don't think he's ready to make an impact for Utd at Champ level this season (and certainly not at Prem level) and letting him go would have less impact on the team than if either Berge or Ndiaye left

Selling Adams and DCL got us out of L1.

Difference now though, despite everybody saying we are, we're clearly not skint

Not skint no, but having to deal with a huge drop in revenue which the releasing of some high earners at the end of last season and drop in salaries for the remaining players won't cover.

Other that sell the odd player, how else do you expect to cover both the reduction in revenue and operating losses?

They are going for DCL v2

Depending on the fee I would keep him. He’s 3rd choice and we can’t have mcburnie any closer to the starting line up.

Selling loads of merchandise with wonky badges

If we sell then hopefully it's for a big fee of 10m+ with a good sell on clause, they stole DCL from us and we can't afford to let the same thing happen again.

He's very young, has good international pedigree and has the build and skill set of a good, modern forward player. He is far from the finished product but it's easy to see why clubs are looking at him. He thrived on loan last season after he'd settled in but has looked off it when he's played for us in the last couple of seasons. I'm sure this is because he's not had a settled run in the side, as he showed at Burton once he'd settled in he played his natural game and looked very good.

The other problem we'd have is if we sell him then we need to replace as relying on just Sharp & Brewster isn't enough and we know McBurnie is a busted flush, and Osula is too raw and needs a loan spell of his own.

I believe with his natural progression he will be a £25+ million player within 3 years. Who knows he could progress a lot more and be a 50+ million player in a few years. DCL has been touted as a 50-60 million player for interested clubs so the media reckons. Jebbo at the same age is a lot better player than DCL, could he become better, I believe he will be a lot better than DCL. So what do people actually want for him? 6-10m? And within the next few years when he’s worth triple that are these people gonna say same old Utd selling best players on the cheap!! Jebbo and Osula should not be sold, they are the future and are going to be some partnership for us over the coming seasons. Yes I agree they may not be ready to start every game but Jebbo is ready to start here and there, come on as sub etc. Let him progress with us the same as Ndiaye has, not all young players need to be shipped out on loan.

I do wonder if we are hoping he starts 15 games or so this year.

I think he will, with inevitable injury’s he will start 15 I’d say, hopefully in the 2nd half of the season he is starting because his own merits and not because of injury’s.

To lose Jebbo would be a blow. Our own assets with loads of potential to finance the loaning in of other clubs assets has the potential to be very bad for the club if promotion isn’t achieved. If he does stay I hope we show him the patience he may need as a teenager making his way in the game it’s easy to forget Ndiaye is 3/4 years older than him and that in time he could become just as good if we stay behind him and give him our support.

After they gloated about stealing DCL for a pittance from us last time, I hope we are not so naive and gullible this time

I wouldn't be overly disappointed if this happens. That's not to say I don't think he will come good, but if it helps the club to make a sale, I'd sooner Jebbison goes than Berge (as WORKSOPBLADE says, also).

Didn't Everton offer £5M previously and before he did so well at Burton? In the current market, he's got to be worth £8M plus a decent sell-on. Selling him may just mean we can gamble and keep Sander until January ...

It’s different with strikers. Especially young ones where finding touch and gaining confidence are crucial to doing the core job of a striker and putting the ball in the net.
Training is not enough.

Strikers need to play, and we are at a critical stage of his development but also can’t afford to carry players who are learning and not contributing to the goal of winning matches and going up.
For me, both lads need to be out on loan where they play week in week out and gain minutes and score goals so it becomes habit.
We then get one in who’s gained that experience to compliment Sharp, Brewster and McB
