Or maybe that should be clutching at straws....but looking for some positives on what is a fucking miserable Thursday...
  1. The Ramsdale saga is over
  2. The Board will hopefully sanction a few signings after last night and with a bit of money incoming
  3. Wilder lost his first 4 games, Slav has a point on the board already!
  4. Slav started slowly at both Fulham (W1, D2, L5 of first 8) and Watford (W2, D2, L4 of first 8) but got both promoted playing superb football when things slotted into place
  5. We have the same amount of points at this stage as Norwich did last season and they pissed the league
  6. The next 6 league games could be very winnable and 4 are at home, Huddersfield (H), Luton (A), Posh (H), Preston (H), Hull (A), Derby (H).
There is a considerable amount of work to do and the squad should have been ripped apart and rebuilt in the summer but we are where we are. After last night I need to cling onto something so lets just hope we can get 3 points out of the Huddersfield game, a few quality signings over the line before the window shuts and the world will seem a better place...

One man's crumb of comfort is another man's clutching at straws 😀

Few more, Davies has signed, has to be better than Robinson, Freeman's ten minutes last night showed he is up for the fight, and scraping tge barrel but Slav and tge Prince/board must realise the job required to turn things round.

Transfer business is slow as a week in jail at SUFC. Nowt will be done before the weekend now.

No he didn't.

Lost 4 of his first 5 then.......OK then as a direct comparison CW's record in his first 8, (all comps) was W2, D1, L5....

Lets see where Slav is after 8 games (all comps)...at the moment he is W1, D1, L2....I will stick my neck out and say Slav wont lose 3 of the next 4, (sure someone will screen shot this...!!)

Fully behind Slav and I sincerely hope you're right.

We need to remember that this isn't his team and until he brings is own players in, I fear it'll get worse before it gets better.

One crumb we can take from last night is that we got pumped and got it out the way early, opening Slav's and the owners eyes up to the issues in the squad that need addressing. Potentially a better outcome long term than inconsistently winning here and losing there and lulling anyone into a false sense of security that these players are good enough to get us back up.

They look spent and look like they dread having to go out there, having been conditioned to losing games and thinking that a defeat by 2 goals or less constitutes a "decent performance" and that we were "in the game".

Think points 1 and 2 are hopefully good in the long run!

Point 4. I knew Slav started slow but that is interesting about his record in his first 8 at both Fulham and Watford.
I think the concern or worry is the manner of it all last night. But like said all too many times before you win nothing in August.

It was W2 D2 L4 F7 A11. One of those defeats was in the league cup and one of the draws was in the football league trophy.

Looking at just league fixtures CW's record after 8 games was W4 D1 L3 F10 A11

I did say "all comps".......and the FLT was still a loss on pens...to an U23 side....not a draw

Bookies haven't twigged how crap we are yet, so you can still get decent odds on the opposition

The match against Leicester In the football league trophy at full time was 0-0. A penalty shootout takes place after the conclusion of the game. We drew the football match but lost the penalty shootout.

Did we go through to the next round? No we didn't, so we lost, doesn't matter how, it was a loss......that's the kind of bollocks Wendy come out with.

That match did not put us out of that trophy. We played two further matches, losing one (to Walsall) and winning one (against Grimsby).

I have never regarded a penalty shootout as part of the actual match and I am not alone in that. For example, this site records the match as a draw:

My view is clearly not the same as your view and I am happy to leave it there. I shall not resort to abuse simply because someone disagrees with me.

We will agree to disagree then and leave it there......and I haven't abused you in the slightest.....dickead....😉😉

Last night's defeat will have been the wake-up call we need to kick-start the season, starting with Huddersfield on Saturday. COME ON YOU RED AND WHITE WIZARDS ⚔️
