I'm not convinced. We've been very poor for a long time. The outside world haven't quite seen our form for most of 2024. Robins lost his two main coaches who, realistically, carried him.

Some fair comments, apart from the Bassette being a naughty boy - Anel was wrong to react as he did but Bassette quite clearly held his face like he’d been thumped by Tyson Fury when he actually was pushed in the throat. Then laughed about the incident after the red card.

So, not a naughty boy, but a snidey, cheating cunt.

Ref didn't fall for face challenge , he saw Anel deliberately walk over to Baseet when ball not in play and assault him with two-handed shove - not even CW could moan about it when asked

It was so blatant, I thought they'd got Jacques Cousteau in as interim manager.

That's true , but we all know that refs are very slow to clamp down on simulation coz they fear the backlash from making a mistake.
If they don't give a card for simulation , they won't get murdered by the media , coz not newsworthy.
But if they do give a card , they risk criticism if slo-mo shows contact.

Ironically , the in the incident today where their lad got a card , the slo-mo actually shows that Robbo made contact (sufficient to bring him down) before getting the ball.

Yet there were other instances like Peck , where there was absolutely no contact at all and their man tries to dive into the box , yet Peck not only gets a foul but also a yellow !
I think the ref assumed contact by Peck coz the way their man went down , but hadn't actually seen it.

We have to accept that refs can't see everything in real time
Assistant refs should get more involved or we should have 2 refs like water polo

Refs have a very difficult job with the speed of the game these days.

But Anel made it very easy for him to make the decision which cost us.

I think our guys need some coaching on how to be "cuter" and cleverly influence decisions - we seem to suffer from cloggers (pigs) and shithouses (Coventry) with no real idea how to deal with dirty or dishonest opposition

Brewster got sent off and then McBurnie equalised to make it 2-2.

I think you are missing the fact that Coventry were on it and playing well would have been a good second half. They have a strong squad as Wilder alluded to so yes a good point which could have been 3 or even a defeat as an open game was suiting them.
Robbins is unlucky as Coventry are far better than there position suggests, just needed time to get it together! King there chairman might live to regret sacking him especially if Lampard gets the job.
Feel sorry for Anel as he must have been really frustrated at the lack of protection from the officials no excuse though for the stupid action he took.

Overall a good result as we weren't playing to our strengths. We were playing out from the back with short passes until we lost it with a pass into an open space which would normally be a 50 : 50 but our lads were not willing to get there first. The international flyaway players more often than not were too slow to react and the Coventry lads were reacting first because of their high press and willingness to please. We are not Manchester City so why do we play that way! Wilder was giving glowing remarks pre match about Coventry's squad so perhaps we should have known our match team would 'suck up' defensively to the opposition. Unfortunately we were playing a football match with biased officials who were not protecting our players from the dirty cheating players who were getting away with the kicking and diving antics of the Coventry players, especially Bassette who not only elbowed Anel deliberately as he pushed him to the ground, he stood over him shouting abuse the nipped him in the neck. Anel lost the plot and got sent off for going for his neck and pushing him to the ground, while the cheating rat was holding his face, writhing in agony, and that rat's wink afterwards showed what a low life player he was. I sincerely hope but doubt the FA will do anything about this. Earlier Hamer produced the perfect through ball to the right winger who crossed the ball low into the penalty area for our centre forward to slot home. Coventry equalised with a glancing header. After Anel goes marching off our centre forward is taken off and replaced with another defender, Jack Robinson.
In the second half we score first and they equalise again and we hold on for a point which we would have been 3 points prior to the international break. I will not get into thougher analysis as Dafbat will provide it much better than I can. I hope the lads get propper rest before the next encounter of championship football.

The ground holds 33,000 people, there were 5000 empty seats including a few hundred in the away end.

I know it sounds silly, but like with Man City, sky blue seats stand out more than black, red or dark blue seats. 28,000 at Bramall Lane would look a lot busier than at the Ricoh.

Yep, it was 15% but we agreed a payout in the summer for around £3m. It now remains at 10%. Phenomenal footballer.
