The referee should have taken one the numerous opportunities he had in the first to book that scumbag. Whether it be one of the pathetic attempts to dive and win a penalty (since when has that stopped being a bookable offense) or the obvious and dirty late fouls.

I get that in the "modern game" you can't do what Anel did. But seriously, that sort of thing would have been laughed at not so long ago. The ref would have had a stern word, hands would have been shaken, and we could have got back to enjoying a good game of football.... and what I ask is wrong with that?

It's sad these days that players like this Bassette get away with it. He'd have lasted about 5 seconds against Brian Kilkline
Killer was a fantastic but underrated defender. A big reason why we win the FA cup in 87

A great point in the end, but I agree with your sentiment about our performance with 10 men.

QPR didn’t defend at the Lane earlier this season when they went a man down (albeit al lot later in the game)

UTB.
It’s similar to out prem mentality where just parked the bus and hoped for the best. It’s all a bit basic and 90% of the time we fall apart. At no point today did we look like a team at the top of the table. I think coventry in general play where much more dynamic and composed.

Absolutely a point gained though as we deserved nothing from that.

May I remind you we played today and you have two of our favourite recent players?

So from today's game who do you want to sign next?
Bassette would be useful for the Christmas panto, Olivier-esque levels of acting today…

Can we have Bond? 😛

Joking aside.. I’m not too sure, Rugoni looked okay, if not too spectacular.. Sheaf looked steady.

O’Hares decent. Nothing fancy, did expect more from him but feel we’re not playing him in the right position/he’s too lightweight.

That's his problem. Too lightweight. Also seems as though he puts his boots on the wrong feet. But he certainly make defences panic.

Never gave them a second thought before today’s game. There was no rivalry at all in my mind but after that cheating little twat I really do hope they appoint Lampard.

Wish them nothing but relegation.

Fuck em

he’s shown moments of looking really good, pulls defenders inside and out, makes good runs, but I feel he’s got more in the locker. He’d recently come back from a bad injury last season if I remember right? So understandable if that’s playing in the back of his mind.

Ha

Every time we lose or draw, someone on this forum thinks "we could have been braver" whatever that means. It's like if only we were "braver" we'd win every game

When we had a chance to establish a foothold on the game instead we launched it anywhere away from our goal and instantly gave control back to them. Very rarely did any of our players remain composed and look to find a man. They pussied out and smashed it long or hastily rushed a pass to team mate like the ball was a live bomb. It was just clear it, regroup, clear it, regroup, sloppy pass, regroup. Very agricultural.

Being brave would’ve been to remain calm, composed and rise to the occasion, establish control. Want the ball and dictate the tempo. Take a player on, travel with the ball, look to receive and make a pass. Not much of that happened.

Sending Anel off also ruined the game, it was a really good game until the sending off.
A player of Anels experience was stupid to let a young kid wind him up so much. The ref
should have clamped down on the Belgian wanker earlier.

If that man is Lampard I pity you. Awful manager. Couldn’t get a Derby County up whilst bristling with quality.

He lost in the play offs to one of the best championship squads of modern times. That Villa team had the likes of Grealish, Abraham, McGinn etc.

Was hardly short of quality with Mason mount, tomoori and Wilson was he.

He’s fuckin shite

Whilst also having talent like Mount, Tomori and Wilson etc. Works both ways. Massively underachieved imo.

For the handful of names he had, there was loads of shite in that Derby squad.

Equally, Mount, Tomori and Wilson are arguably not as good as Grealish, Mings, Abraham, McGinn, etc.

Derby finished 6th the season before Lampard came in and finished 6th with a much bigger outlay in his only season with them. He wasn't a disaster but he wasn't a success

I would hope it will be different for us. A lot more experience and lessons learnt.

The Chelsea and Everton jobs are a world away from Coventry, let's be honest. He'd have a very solid Championship side to utilise and I'd imagine he'll be back nicely when we receive the sell on fee after Gyokeres moves for £100m

I fully expect you to move up the table but I think you would have with Robins
