A lot of that is self belief. Success breeds success. As we've seen with McB scoring.

At the moment confidence is on a low.
That's also reflected in / bred by the crowd. It's been near silent, even last week at 2-0 up was dire.
Recently top of the league and confidence is on a low?

I don't disagree, indeed it just re-iterates to me what an amazing job Hecky has done to steer the Blades ship well clear of the relegation rocks with the limited resources he has been provided. The mental fragility imposed on many at the club by the disastrous 20/21 season is still only a 'bad run' away from re-emerging.

I won't be surprised if a deeper malaise at the club impacts Hecky and the squad's motivation and efforts at some point.

Cries of Hecky being a Poundland coach are harsh; but he's never promoted a club to the Premiership, so no surprise nor condemnation if he doesn't achieve that with us.

The top people at organisations are usually selected on past achievements rather than optimistic hope. Hecky's basically a punt by the club to, at worse, tread water until the budgetary hole caused by Jovanovic's departure has depreciated, circa June 2025. Hecky's contract runs until 2026. So whether or not a promotion comes along we're basically stuck with Hecky until he resigns, is head-hunted or a relegation clause kicks in.

Rock and hard place comes to mind. But don't expect change.

Err, you judge a modern footballer on his all round contribution.
Don’t be daft, seriously? I’ve been really encouraged by his recent performances but if a centre forward’s only noteworthy contribution is defensive headers we have a problem. PS don’t be so condescending as to challenge other people’s understanding of football - it’s not good

Certainly, as long as you stop being so presumptuous in deciding what is and isn't "good".
