Hi

I am a Wednesday fan so probably not welcome on your board but....

I just wanted to wish you congratulations on yesterday. Hurts me to say it but you were outstanding. Our defence was awful but barring 10 or 15 minutes after half time you controlled the game.

Wilder really has done an amazing job and I thought your fans were class yesterday. Love games when both sets of fans are singing like that, such a change.

Anyway, enjoy the win.

Very gracious of you to say. Think many of your lot are still refusing to accept that we schooled your multi million pound side virtually from start to finish.

I think most accept it but are in too much pain to say it out loud.

Yep, you showed us what a team that have actually being coached can achieve.

What summed it up for me was Fleck's free kick. Your team had a plan and all knew what they were going to do. We get a free kick not long after and we are faffing about discussing who was going to take it etc. A small example of the difference between what happens on the training pitch.

Well said pal, as you'll have seen, there's no contest about who was the better side. We don't buy into the nonsense that your guys had an off day, we made sure that we imposed ourselves and taught you a lesson. Forgive me for appearing delighted, but in the run up to this match your supporters showed arrogance and the assumption that it was a formality that you'd win. Talk about deluded! For all your money spent you still don't have a side worthy of taking it's part in a game like this.

Maybe employ some scouts who know what they're doing?

For what it's worth I never thought that. Derby's are never easy in fact no game in the championship is easy.

We had an off day in the sense that we made some horrendous decisions at the back but a lot of that came about because you were putting us under pressure. Anyone that said before the game that we would win easily clearly knows nothing about football

You are welcome, although expect a bit more banter than other fans who come on here get.
You have to remember - we are at HOME here - you are playing away.

You seem humble and genuine so enjoy the stay........part 2 renews in January :)

For myself - I don't like the arrogance a lot of your fans portray, but I also know quite a few genuine, honest owls fans who are also "fans of football"

Fair play.

What a refreshing change to have some grace and balance from a Wednesday. You are a rarity.

I believe your lot have gone about spending the sums you have completely wrong. And as I see it your coach has little say on which players come into the club.
So just laying blame at the coach’s door is a bit lame. It goes deeper than that.

Think you lot need to reflect on what happened, and perhaps stop taking our players fro granted. Those lads can play.

That's a fair assessment to be honest. We have wasted a load of money. 8 million on Rhodes when we have the same issues in midfield and at the back that we have had since the play off final in the first season. I never doubted that you lot can play. I've got a few mates who are season ticket holders at the lane and they have been saying how well you have been played for a long time.

I was very impressed with Fleck yesterday. But the difference between him and our midfield was that Wilder seems to have thought how to accommodate players. If Fleck was in our team he'd be half the player because he'd probably be in a midfield two with the other midfielder sat on the centre back's toes.

It probably does go deeper than Carlos to be honest but the way in which we approach big games time and time again points to him being responsible for some of the issues.

Oh yeah, based on yesterday I can't wait for part two :)

You're always welcome after a game like that and with gracious comments. Nice to read this. I'm sure it wasn't easy to write.

We did warn you at least 6 months ago that we had a really good side and a quality manager. Just proves that theres more to football than an open chequebook. Ironically some of our own fans have looked towards your model of spending and used it to justify their comments about our poor recruitment.

Yesterday backed up what many of us believe, that we're not here in the Championship just to scrape through a relegation battle, but as contenders.

Good luck against Leeds, we might be top by the time you play them ;)

Best I've ever seen your lot play, well done if we're praising people.

Nah, you're welcome on our board as long as you're sensible. It's your board that bans blades for being, blades.

Thanks for your kind words though.

Also interesting that followers of SWFC have convinced themselves and each other that United were up for this game as a one off, our "cup final".

Well, us Blades know that United are "up for it" in every game they play and the approach they took yesterday was just the same as at Southend away last season.

And will be on Wednesday against Wolves.

Win lose or draw, this squad Wilder has put together will never leave anything out on the pitch.

And that's all a fan can ask.

Not bad for a "pub team".

Thank you for this. This is what sport should be about. Sadly sportsmanship seems to have largely gone out of football both from the players and particularly the fans and I include most of our fans in that too. Having said that I think that the players on both teams were very sporting yesterday. It was hard fought and passionate but there was no diving, play acting or intimidating the ref.. What a pleasure to see. This I think was aided by the ref who was excellent and as a result kept the resect of the players. Tempers tend to get frayed when refs start to become inconsistent or too niggley. I should add that although I only watched on TV I thought the noise level of the Wednesday fans was fantastic. Think pour home crowd could learn something from that.
In other sports such as Cricket and rugby fans often mix to watch the match and can still applaud the opposition if they do something good or win the match and accept gracefully that they were beaten by a better team on the day. Obviously football fans have been segregated for years and it seems that the passion and tribalism means this will always be the case, particularly as football has always attracted the hooligan element. SUFC have their own share of hooligans sadly. I would like to think that had we lost yesterday some of us would heve had the good grace to say towards your team what you have said towards ours; but hopefully for the return fixture we will still be "top dogs".

Yep, I agree. It was (apart from the result from my point of view) a bloody good derby. No horrendous tackles, time wasting or diving. Some good football played too.

Interesting point about applauding the opposition. When your lad Brookes was subbed off there were a few people near me who applauded him. They were also nervously looking round after they did it as if to expect some abuse from the rest of the fans for doing so.

Some fans are arrogant and can't see any point of view but their own.

On the pub team thing. It originally steamed from Keith Edwards calling league one a pub league in the season that we were both in that league at the same time. Some of our fans then never let it drop.

You are more than welcome. We have had years of rubbish to put up with, and it can still be hard to believe that we are looking like a good team/club right now. So we need people like you to come on here and help convince us that it's really happening...
