Congrats to the McCabe family

McCabe may be a gentleman and a thoroughly nice bloke as well as a Blade, but the decline in the club has had his hallmark all over it. Since we dropped unceremoniously out of the top flight thanks to not equipping ourselves accordingly, every step backward has been him and him alone as the root cause. I hear it all on this circle jerk posting and yeah, there's loads of people who have been itching to spoon syrup on the shit now we have finally slam dunked this fucking division, to hail people 'haters' is a little harsh. There's no 'hate' in highlighting the appointment of frankly shit managers and selling our better players. I'd call it realism, meself. None of us lot hired and fired Blackwell, Adams, Weir, Clough and Brian fucking Robson. None of us lot sold the Kyles, Quinny, McDonald, Blackman ... etc.

The only difference this season from the last ten years is that the start of the season squad resembles the finish of the season squad ... and it has improved because of the consistent ability of messers Wilder and Knill. The JTW came and went and we maintained the ability and because of the team management, improved as we went along. The confidence out on the pitch (where it counts) bled through onto the terraces. If there is any credit to McCabe it is in the fact that he hasn't flogged Sharp, Freeman, Lavery, Fleck or Coutts, to anyone watching, the backbone of this wonderful season. It shows what we can achieve when 'business' submits to 'ambition'. If he is to be congratulated on anything, it's for not torpedoing our own vessel mid-journey. Can any one of you 'lovers' deny that? Can anyone actually supply evidence that his appointments, their purchases, the sales of players has had one iota of positive motion on the club?

So, to today. I rejoice with the players, the manager, his team and you lot, the fans. I am chuffed to fucking fuck. We have done it, at last! Up the fucking Blades. But I offer simple thanks to McCabe for not fucking it up once again. I am with those who say 'let's not get too carried away'. I also demand he and the prince fulfil their promise now and invest in the club to keep up in the Championship. We all deserve that.

See I don't get all this selling players shit. SUFC can't hold a gun to a players head and tell him he's not moving. Of a players head gets turned by bigger wages and a bigger club what can McCabe do? Yeah bad managers have come in but all with proven records as good managers. Robson was crap but he'd had success with Middlesbrough and WBA so why would he think not to give him the job? Hindsight is a wonderful thing but kev did what he thought best for the club at the time. We could have been sat here celebrating 6 years ago but was it not for chedgate. Was that McCabe's fault? Unfortunately I think son on here will be so blinkered that they will blame him for that too. Like I said Coventry, Blackpool, Portsmouth. Nuff said

Again? He's given enough fuck year on year to make up a substantial deficit between income and expenditure. The queue of people willing to do it for him has been conspicuous by it's absence.

He'll be as delighted as any of his fellow Blades tonight.

Here's to you, Kev.

Nah mate, the sales of Maguire paid for that and more. Don't yer know?!

Um, tell the player they have three years left on their contract? Tell the bidding club that 'undicslosed' aint even half the worth?

What success?

Not sell players? Not appoint shit managers? Any order there.

Wasn't as though the Evans affair wasn't signposted, was it?

Like I said Coventry, Blackpool, Portsmouth. Nuff said

Three different clubs with three entirely different situations. Nuff said.

Nowt beats nonsense anytime. Monotonous, repetitive, Ill-informed, malicious nonsense.

And you have nothing to say. As usual. It wouldn't be so bad if you had some form of wit or humour. Or common sense. You can't debate. You can't even think. It's like being trolled by a fucking jellyfish.

Why not just ... fuck off? It wont hurt, honest. Fuck off ... somewhere over there. And when you're there, fuck off ... over there, behind where you'd fucked off in the first place. Then, when you realise how fucking off is, fuck off into there, over there again and back here.

And then fuck off again.

This unoriginal masterpiece, people, comes from someone who accuses me of lacking wit and humour....

Tell us the one about the football pitch again, Redbeard. I love that one.

Yes mistakes have been made over the past decade, but its history, lets forget and move on, dwelling on the past helps no one.

For this season, many thanks to McC/HRH for investing and not selling out when it mattered, I applaud this positivity.

For what comes next lets not repeat the same mistakes of the past. Please, no more old slow expensive players from above well past their sell by date, we tried that, it doesn't work, but how about some some younger faster up and coming ones that can scare the opposition. Remember how Deane and Agana scared the living daylights out of others but cost peanuts ? They are out there, we just need to go and find them again. Excitement puts bums on seats, not old has beens.

They have put the cash in. but also cashed in.

However due to their mistakes and selling key players at key times we stayed in this league longer than we should have.

But im not a football club chairman so I dont have access to our bank vaults.

But yes they agve made all the right decisions this season. SO many thanks to them for that!

You've heard it son. But, being as you are having one of your moments, I'll re-iterate if you want.

As for yourself, you still have nowt to say. Nowt. Nada. Nothing.

Aye, we all knew that he was going to get wrongly sent down didn't we?

As Bert is a businessman, he will understand the term 'contingency'. As we were suddenly robbed of our top scorer - rightly or wrongly - mebbes it might have been a wise move to sign someone, even on loan, to keep the momentum up, ya think?

Oh, hang on. We had Porter, didn't we?

So if McCabe had loaned a striker (a 30 goals a season man, the like of which are two a penny) to play the last 4 or 5 games of the season you reckon we'd have gone up?

I dunno. Y'know, the devastating consistency of Cresswell and the merciless killer instinct of Porter was possibly the best way just in case everything went wrong in the court case. I mean ... footballer is accused of raping a drunk girl. It's bound to get thrown out, surely?

In any case, when he'd gone inside, we just kept on scoring and scoring, didn't we? All the way to the pigs overtaking us and our disastrous showing at Wembley ...

The day we are crowned champions of the division you manage to wallow in the misery of previous seasons. Incredible.

We signed will Hoskins from Brighton on loan in January. In hindsight it wasn't good as he got injured but we did sign someone as contingency and it didn't work out as expected.

UTB

Not sure that's strictly true FB

I stand to be corrected, but my understanding was that he came already injured. He had a double hernia that was thought would keep until the end of the season. That turned out not to be the case and Hoskins ended up having surgery

In hindsight, that was a poor move. Any signing made should at least have the pretext of being fit when they arrive. Perhaps it was the only option open to the club, I don't know, but somehow I doubt it

He did but didn't last the season as I remember. Hernias got worse and needed surgery

Could even argue he didn't do himself justice playing with a double hernia as I don't recall him pulling any trees up with his performances, although that can't be proven and that's just my opinion

What the fuck are we congratulating the McCabe family for? They got us into a mess, they can get us out.

Chris Wilder and his staff are the ones to congratulate. Kev might have appointed him but he didn't break the bank and he told Wilder he was working under a much reduced budget.

We're taking this thank you malarkey to a stupid level. We shouldn't have been where we have been for the last six years, I suppose a thank you should be in order for that then?

The post was an actual dig at pompey saying that we didn't have a contingency. We did, just worked out wrong in terms of ched.

People keep quoting this six season rubbish. well in my book it is seven wilderness years. If some one can tell me that the decision and the reason that decision was right to sack Blackwell was right three games in, well! not that Blackwell was right but come on, All through the summer from the failure in the play off final! Which McCabe had a hand in the defeat by telling us lot on a Tuesday night when we were playing Burnley that BT had a cold. That is the truthful Kev eh?
Said it so many times he has presided over the worst period in the clubs History. It was his decisions that caused this, no one else.
For me it is the ordinary fans who scrimp and save to buy a season ticket or plan weeks ahead because they may budget to go and see a category C game because it is the only one they can afford all season. Or the fans who don't go for several seasons because they have to support their new family but the first thing they look for is a positive Blades result on a Saturday or Tuesday night.
Mr McCabe and his family are in a privileged position to be able to indulge in and support the Club he and his family love. I'm sure he has worked hard all his life to get to this position and congratulations to him and his family for that. He may well become the greatest Chaiman we've ever had but let us not forget those 20k who have been through this worst period and the ones who would given different circumstances have attended during these poor years.
COYRAWW.........Ahhhrrr

No. On this day you ask me questions regarding my lack of a hard on over McCabe. You can't debate, much like your pet orang-utan Pinchy. Both of you manage to disappear far up each other's arses with predictable inevitability.

Back to the subject. You reckon if we'd have seen Ched's departure from a million miles away mebbe we'd have signed a better striker just in case the jury by utter fluke decided that the wealthy chancer sportsman was a rapist?

Contingency, Bert. But y'know. Don't let me spoil your celebration. Off you go. Hurrah, Kev. Our savior.
