In hindsight, that was a poor move. Any signing made should at least have the pretext of being fit when they arrive. Perhaps it was the only option open to the club, I don't know, but somehow I doubt it

Makes you wonder about all the "I'll be as happy as any other Blade if we're promoted" comments.

on what basis do you say that McCabe has sold players?

In my experience it's usually managers that decide who stays and who goes and I've yet to see anything from any of our past managers to say that they haven't been backed to the hilt.

Sales take place because managers prioritise their requirements within their budget, not because the chairman wants to pocket the cash.
 
When it comes to character assassination soccer fans take some beating. Mr McCabe has taken more than his share of beatings from Blades fans. However, if he reads what fans have said about the likes of Hanson, Clarke, Done etc then I hope he can afford himself a wry smile at the general levels of intelligence that lie behind some of the abuse.
 
For those who said he didn't have a choice but to stick with us... its not true.

The Chanel Four documentary showed a bunch a cowboys tried to buy us and he told them to do one. Also was proactive in seeking investment and to his credit eventually found it.

Yes has undoubtedly made bad decisions, but not for want of trying or caring, and was delighted to see him celebrate with us at Northampton and there were even a few chants for him :)

I'm not claiming anything , I'm asking. I think bramall lane got moved to McCabe's company when the prince came in or something like that. And I seem to recall something about rent to pay money back to mccabe?

The answer then is yes. But it doesn't even cover the costs incurred.

You really are the 'Captain of Hindsight'. You foresee all of the managers are rubbish, you would never sign the wrong player, every contract would be spot on, you can see legal issues and would have a top striker sitting on the bench for the last 4 games of the season, just in case and you did exactly what in your life?

I could have done with just half a dozen of you blokes supporting my pro-McCabe stance a year ago. WHF needed you all there too.

Where were you all? There were loads of the 'slashers', easy then for them.

At least Pommpey is still saying the same things, all the others have disappeared.

The nature of the forum is complicated. I must say I have more respect for Pommpey over this than the 84 above!!!!
 
There you are Pomps, just the back up you need.

Now only one person was seemingly Pro McCabe which will come as a surprise to many.

And all to have yet another dig at a large number of posters who didn't fall at his feet.

He wanted people banned for less. And there was a final warning if I remember correctly. Maybe he's after a ban so he can blame others for his own stupidity.

my memories not the best so again don't quote me on this but I think he said as much. The rate we pay him back depends on our circumstances. If you think we owe him then its admirable , if you think we don't , not so much.

It would make commercial sense as SU Ltd loses money every year. As does the FC of course.

We do owe him. Millions, no doubt about it, much of it down to his mistakes such as his biggest backing Red Wine Robbo to the hilt. That doesn't change the fact he's pumped cash in.

Yeh bouncing Adkins and persuading the Prince to take Wilder was really lucky. Sounds like he influenced his own luck mind.
