Well it looks pretty likely that we've accepted a bid £1.5m less than what we paid for him, whether he goes or not. I think I'll show my displeasure now, just based on that.

Aside from that, I can't see us getting Kitson, as didn't he want to move back down south?

We will probably get Pericard and Cresswell in return.

Lovely stuff.

Sounds like we really don't want promotion at all if its now down to £1.5mil.

And £500k more than Michael Tonge went to the same place :(. If it's true, either him or the club wanted him gone quickly.... contrary to what they said previously.

From the report I heard that Beattie wants compo off us, it sounds like it was OUR decision to get him off the wage bill. Bowl of Credit Crunch, anyone?

Looks that way.

To be honest, it's less the fact that we're accepting a loss on him that annoys me... it's more that the fans have, once again, been lied to. It's also akin to the Tonge situation in that Beattie has played every single match he's been able to, so we're going to have to start from scratch - again - tactically to accomodate someone else, whoever that may be. If he goes, obviously.

Its ok we have we have the great Darius Henderson.....

Threads merged and moved. Two threads about the same thing and nothing confirmed so kept in rumour mill.

Nothing confirmed anywhere... and the BBC are the only place reporting it up to now that I've seen.

Let's hope BBC Stoke understand wrongly!

Although apparently Beattie was training at Shirecliffe with the rest of the team this morning.

same owd............................

The Blades way never knowingly undersold.

AMBITION MY ARSE.

When will yer believe me?

If this is true then I will believe you BB. :)

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm tasty lies.

Thats all we get from UTD, maybe Beighton is onto something?

BT going, I can just about take, so long as we replace him with a decent standard striker.

But BT going for a fraction of the price, midway through a season which we have struggled to cement a place in the top six, is just a hard punt in my bollocks from UTD.

I'm now waiting for the season tickets to be pumped up in price aswell as being told we will invest heavily in the squad and no one will be leaving.

£2.5m quid? WTF?

Absolute rubbish. Shows some good ambition that, selling our only striker worthy of the name for fucking peanuts.
Got to agree.
I am foaming at the mouth with anger.
And you won't be on you own if it's true.

I can accept the fact that Beattie is on big wages and that we can't sustain one of the highest wage bills in our deivsion for ever. But if Beattie does go then we can kiss our already slim hopes of promotion goodbye and say hello to another twelve years stuck in this division.

Forgive me if I soumd a bit like beightonblade, but selling Beattie shows a complete lack of any ambition beyond relegation.

I honestly wouldnt mind beattie going IF we got kitson in to replace him

i think kitson would be great for us!

Obviously not happy about the price but thats not going to change he isnt getting younger

If we get any player in return, it will be Creswell.

Words can't describe how angry I'll be if we sell him for £2.5m.

Ah well, at least it's something else to talk about other than the Pigs crying because they've only got 3,000 tickets for the derby.

Maybe we are trying to become the next L**ds or Luton.

I am not sure how much we can blame the manager if I am being honest, cant help feeling he is just the puppet, its the people pulling the strings that are to blame here.
