Emma Wylie was the 'Box Office' manager, has been for ages, and she still is ........

According to the press I am signing for Celtic.

The last ticket office manager before Emma Wylie was sacked for being a naughty boy and the one before him left to manage Coventry City's ticket office ;)

Some porky is telling porkies.

By the way, it was a serious question RE McCabe and having money. Surely if Beatties goals get you into the prem he's worth the money?

Lets be honest, Sharpe won't score many. Neither will Henderson. You need to make a seriously good signing to replace him if he goes. Lita - Maybe. Kitson - No

Sorry for double post

Looks like Beattie is going as i've just recieved an office text from United.....

Stoke look set to sign striker James Beattie from Sheff Utd early next week, with clubs having reportedly agreed £2.5m fee for the 30-year-old!

:( :(

Only believe it if it's written down on the Blades website. Nevermind a mate knows or the press.

why would it be on website?????? clubs never put players contract details on website only lenght of time they've signed for!!!!! If i heard anything from the press IPSWICHBLADE then i'd say it's from papers or radio, i've no need to come on ere n tell lies like a little school boy............

why doesn't it suprise me another pig who'd rather talk about united on a blades forum than talk about his own shower of shite that is w~+*^%"+y, go and show your support to them shit houses cos you certainly need the support to boost your 14,000 attendances, sleeping giant my eff-ing arse you are pal, more like a giant concrete jungle of a stadium thats crumbling all around you. SEE YOU ON FEBUARY 7th I'll be waiting by the BP station, just like your mugs were waitin for us on hillsborough corner, my nan's more intimmidatin than your lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LEGENDS IS A BLADES BOOZER:thumbup:

You have a date. I just hope SYP get there fingers out there arses and do something about you SCUM next time.

Oh and technically, my attendance at Hillsborough wouldn't boost the 14,000 attendance, as i already go. It would need to be someone who doesn't go to the matches at the moment going to boost the attendance. Get that?

Well you'd be looking to pay £5m+ for someone like that:rolleyes:.

You'd have thought so.

I had been told about a statement/rumour just before the Stoke stuff came out which was meant to be along the lines of "he can go for £6m to restructure the wage bill", or words to that effect, but I think they've been, er, 'overtaken by events' :(

Stoke lodge Beattie bid

Sheffield United striker James Beattie could be on his way to the Britannia Stadium after Stoke lodged a bid for the striker.

The Blades are currently mulling over the offer which has been suggested to be between £2.5 million and £4 million.

Tony Pulis is looking to boost his corps after seeing his side drop into the bottom three at the end of 2009 and has just brought Matthew Etherington to the club from West Ham.

There are also suggestions that summer signing Dave Kitson could be offered in part-exchange for Beattie.

Whatever the case it appears that a move across the country is likely for Beattie in the near future.

"Everybody has a sale value and I'd be stupid to say any player won't be leaving - money talks," Blackwell is quoted as saying in the Daily Mail.

Seems we are mulling over the offer.

Lita is back with Reading and scoring.

Kitson wont move apparently.

Not sure who else we could go for.

Exactly, who is there?? I personally dont think stokes is good enough to replace beattie, and i'd love for sharp to start scoring but cant see it happening. Think we'll struggle to find someone who can score at least 15 goals a season. Maybe blackwell should think about fryatt at leicester 18goals so far or mckail-smith at peterbrough 15 goals so far, and lambert at bristol rovers 18 goals so far??

well some were reporting earlier that a fee had been accepted as we all know but he was struggling to agree a contract with them. Rumours about them not being able to afford his wage maybe why it is stalling.

Lita has just returned to the Royals from a productive loan spell with Norwich, who are keen to take him back to Carrow Road.

The striker, whose contract expires in the summer, was given a warm welcome from the home supporters on a frosty evening at the Madejski Stadium.

Coppell said: "It's no headache for me to have four strikers, I can assure you of that.

"It's a nice position to be in, my strikers are uncomfortable which is what I want. Noel Hunt and Kevin Doyle both scored but so did Leroy so they can't relax.

"Leroy always gets a great reception here. I have no plan as such with him.

"He just wants to play football but I have two strikers who are in form and scoring goals so in the short term he is not going to start for us.

"But he has put Kevin and Noel under pressure now and if they don't produce the goods then I will put him in."

dont think we'll get him!!!!

if it doesnt go through then what message does that send out to the fans, that he's only stayin with us for the money?!!

The message we are sending out is the wrong one anyway.

Getting rid of our best striker when we are meant to be ok money wise to honour the contracts of our key players.

Obviously we have been told lies and the club is not as well off as we thought. Yet we still have Carney, Keef, Hendrie etc on the books who could be offloaded to perhaps help hang onto our 1st team regulars.

Lets not forget Kenny is also on the transfer list. So we could lose him too.

maybe, i suppose we'll only know who's goin or gone and who's coming in on 2nd of febuary when this window shuts.

Players are starting to get snapped up and we seem to be missing the boat as usual.

Be interesting to see who is still here come Febuary never mind who has arrived.

Money talks and our supposed well off bank balance doesn't seem to be talkin.. even if beattie does or doesnt go, we still need two midfielders to make us better!!

Weve always needed one or two midfielders

The 2.5m fee that is bandied about for Beattie is shocking really & if he does get sold for that amount then im afraid its back to the bad old days of sell them cheap UTD!
If we must sell Beattie then at least try & recoup what we paid for him?
